Do you already have a strong background in traditional painting and drawing?

I would say you most likely have a very strong background, Russia's art schools are among the best in the world. You should post up some work so we can advise you better, I would say your best bet for concept art in the US would be Art Center College of Design, Ringling College of Art and Design, or Academy of Art University.

Another good and less expensive option would be to study at Pasadena City College (so you can get a visa) and take classes at the Concept Design Academy.

Have you tried to apply for the Surikov in Moscow? If you want to be successful in concept art it never hurts to have more traditional background.

    Hope this helps,

    -Ramon

With your education I would suggest you apply to all the top US schools and see which offers the best package.

Suggestion: MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art)

I know they really try to help international applicants.

It sounds as if you could get advanced standing, plus some course exemptions in the 4 year Concept Art Diploma Program at Max the Mutt. Because I'm the director, I'm not allowed to say more on this forum- it's considered "spam." Check out our website. If you have questions, just post on the Max the Mutt thread, or email admissions@maxthemutt.com. It's a program I'm very excited about and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.
