Plaster casts.. where can I get em?

So Ive been looking everywhere for some bargue type casts to buy. Copying bargue drawings are good, but I want some actual casts because im sure that drawing from the cast is better practice since its actually drawing from life and not a reproduction of life. So anyone know websites that have casts and arent rediculously expensive. I saw a few pieces at Pearl Paint.. like they have the hand, lips, and eye of David. But there super expensive.

I've tried to get casts in the UK but with no luck.

Your best bet is the British Museum, which stocks them sometimes, but they are very expensive..... 115 quid etc and they are not very big either.

I've found a couple of places online GNL but choice is very limited at both.
    There's

http://www.itsallgreek.co.uk/UK/busts_uk.asp which is a shop over the road from the British Museum

    and this one: http://www.hoardersworld.co.uk/busts-sculptures-8-c.asp

Which I think stocks the bust that this guy used.

I was just hoping someone might know of something similar to Giust in Europe.

    Thanks for those links andy.

I have not seen those websites, but I have seen similar casts on ebay.

Again, they are not very big - 30 cm seems about the average.... I was looking for something a bit bigger.

Its a shame, I wonder where the academy's in Florence and Sweden get their casts from?

Check flea markets, public interior house sales, local antique auctions, etc... you may run into a bargain. Also good for old frames.

thanks for the Link Andy.. yes im in the US so that site is perfect.. they even have a section with anatomical casts for artists.. which is what I was looking for. They are pricey though.. Guess Ill have to get one and use it for a while.. maybe with different light positions.. until I can get more

I emailed Giust this afternoon and they've just told me they ship to the UK (and I presume elsewhere internationally) using the US Postal Service.

That sounds great but I think they end up in the hands of Royal Mail so I'm not too sure that I'd want to try it.

Thanks the_allejo05, these are within my price range and there's a good variety.
