    Anyways; liker greiene veldig godt!

Piemonster Takker Skal prøve å oppdatere litt oftere mens jeg er hjemme, men syns det forsåvidt er vanskelig å gjøre noe konstruktivt å gjøre noe når jeg er hjemme også

DanielC Thanks man, trying to have some fun inbetween those (sometimes) tedious studies.

Here's some junk. The cast painting didn't turn out so bad, but the photo did. Sorry, maybe I'll take a better one when i can.

The portrait was done in about 2 and a half ours or so. Tried to make it as simple and accurate as possible...I got the likeness allright.

My first colour study...it was really dark that day and the light gave a really cold temperature, so it proved to be a useless study. Good as a study in stroke economy and simplicity though...this is kinda what i would want to end up with after a couple of days work on the big painting.

(hope i'm not talking too much...)

Nice job andreas, keeping the steam up during the holiday

Did you go to some figure drawing place local where you live to do those gestures? I like them lots of confidence in the lines.

Hope the new year brings you lots of progress.

Hey Andreas. The cast in my sketchbook was my last charcoal/white chalk cast. No way I could paint like that, yet
The brushwork have to catch up with my pencil habbits.
Yeah I heard that lots of the students want to transfer. It's nice here, but it all comes down to how you're as a person and what you like. I think there's some spots open here now as a few students got the foot.

How're things going for you? Better luck with the models last trimester?

looking forward to get Alicia up here this week, finally getting a good anatomy teacher up here. To bad I missed Andy.

Cheers man, and hope you get a good start on the new trimester tomorrow.

    more of the same

Thanks for the comments guys. hope you don't mind if i catch some sleep before replying.

Here's a mix. Nothing special. Bad scans...scanner is broken, hence the green line everywhere.

I'll post some figure studies sometime next week. I have a bunch of bigger charcoal studies that needs to be photographed, along with some big figure and cast paintings. It's been a good year...my head finally works with me this time around and things are starting to fall into place. I think I'm in a good place, considering I've spent 9 months with oil paints so far...i'll try to get some photos done next week or so...

petitemistressThanks yous! Yeah, hands and feet need more attention for sure.
Pencilator thanks man. They were done in the studio at saturday afternoon. Good practice. Too bad so many people are afraid of doing more quick figures. I guess it's easy to get too comfortable with the promise of something accurate.
    Choclette, MaxetormerThank you!
Pencilator Ah okay, got a bit anxious, heh. It looks very painterly, though, so good job. I don't you will have a problem transitioning to oil paints. (I did). We had a couple of great models for the winter trimester, and during the spring, i moved to Porta Romana where the light is way more consistent. Less shadows and more halftones. Learned a ton about values. Now it's all about refining my painting technique (still haven't established a good procedure) so I can actually apply those principles well.

    Okay...
More generic figure studies for school. I want to draw trees. And boobs. It's hard for me to just sit down and draw stuff from imagination these days. Besides, all I draw is wierd faces and torsoes...need to expand a little, heh. More to come.

    uhm...

DanielC: Thanks man. The temperature shift is caused by the camera though, it's concistently brown all over (mostly).

Texahol: um...yank tonk kerplonk! Sure! ...i guess...

Just one. (plus an old quickie). I'm slow as shit. Besides, the weather has been really nice recently. Tonight it's raining. Did a landscape and a selfportrait on a couple of small gesso boards. They are both terrible.

    I like cake.

Pezz3DThanks man. Yeah, wes has been an influence since i joined here. Animal Collective ftw!
Texahol You make me go crazy for Kevin Spacey D:

And to the rest of you guys: Thank you!!

Man...I need to paint more. Waaaay more. The first sp is done on an acrylic gesso board. I started out pretty bad drawing wise, and because of that, I've been going around in circles during the whole process. Just realized that the chin needs to drop quite a bit. I think I'm gonna start over, on a bigger canvas...I think...

The rest is done outside, alla prima. Need to do more of that stuff too.

Thimothy Doung, Slobosaurus and IanE: thank you!
Tex: thanks for that chat on msn. I need to get kicked in the butt from time to time...I spent at least 2 hrs on all of them ;[

Back to the basics. I can't draw anything from imagination, and when i do, it's worse than the stuff i made 4 years ago. Not very entertaining, but they give me more confidence...and that's what countss....sss....sssss
