Red face Oreshia The Sea Witch

It's been really long time since I post in here, So I am back and I am bringing some of my old favs, to know what you guys think? what can I improve (I know there's so much to from me) Although to understand it from you will help so much!

This Illustration I did for the famous "Dominance War III" event I did this character to understand better the concept art game industry, and also to get to challenge my self better! ....So her powers git to be only 1 element treat, this means I chose water and ice, I gave her the magic artifact (part of the challenge) about magic sea eyes that have the ability to get water's reflection light and produce this as magic, meaning also that in dark she's out of gas ....also she can see any where, not with her eyes at cost of that, and she can teletransport her self were the sight of her armor goes!

Hope you like her, I also have the rotation sheet, and the concept sheet of her..hope you like it !

I AM POSTING THE NEW ONE HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE THIS ONE BETTER....

Very nice! Although it's a shame she's got that veil on her face. Pretty big turn-off.

Imaginative use of the sea creatures to adorn her. I think that if you toned down the brightness of the reds she might look more cohesive, everything is usually pretty muted in water, specially deep water.

That's cool. The design is very neat and creative. The multiple eyes on her armor is a really good idea.

One thing I notice is that none of her clothing casts shadows on her. It makes the clothing look like paper doll clothes.

DEMON- Thanks ! yeah maybe takes down the prettiness on her face huh? I did it for reasons of were to display the logo, part of the challenge was that....Although I can post her with out that ... Thanks so much I appreciate lots all the honesty you said, helps to understand way much better! Dont hold it if you think something else it's not working.

MoonVisionStudio- Thanks so much fro dropping by and let me know the soo much in many ways, useful tips I sure will do that, you are so right about the red since its wash out with the blue and green from the sea.. I was not happy with the red, although when I change the hues she look more pinkish and violet witch didn't work for me, I will try again, THANKS!

SuperSkoda- Yup you are right not volume achieved there ! I am so working that on her to ! THANKS I am glad you like the eyes idea!

I think the piece has great potential, and there are very few issues with it that are holding it back! The first is the use of colour - Its a very bright and colourful piece but i think people will always run into problems when they try and mix the primary colours in one area too much. Instead, i always find that characters that use a much more limited colour palette work better, especially when you mix a contracting colour in there to pick out certain details.

The only other thing is the pose, which seems a bit un-dynamic and slow seeing as the character is in mid-fight with some huge sea monsters. Perhaps if she was facing the creature in the top right a little more (perhaps just twist the torso to that position) it would give a better sense that she is actually in combat.

In all, some great stuff - looking forward to seeing more.

would it be possible to place the veil in a different position on her face? the veil itself doesn't bother me, but the fact that it's covering the nose does. other than that it's looking better as you edit,

i think the reds could go down a bit more though, or some sort of blue hue color overlay is in order for more unification

watch the perspective on your light rays...right now they are flat on the page and do not increase in size as they come toward the viewer...giving sort of a lazy quality to how it is currently left.

Well I can post the face as it is so you can see that her personality kind off lose the mystery, and since she got not a real use for the nose, it seem for me a good place to get the strange and mystic ornament, I will add some more blue like you mentioned to the red taking care that wont wash the red in purples and pinks, THANKS SO MUCH!
