    **New Artwork 06-07-09**

Hey it's me back again with a new artwork. I applied some critics I got from past pictures I posted here before. If you like the picture hell yeah!! If there's something to improve kindly let me know. Enjoy.

    Artwork 070708 (spider..ish woman):
This was based in a cave spider from Africa. Nasty looking critters. I chose 6 legs instead of 8 because I think it looks better this way, less crowded. Kind of androgenic too, but still obviously can tell is a woman... or a female something. The inscription on the weapon is part of a real spell. It makes no difference, but I think it's cool add stuff like that. Hope you guys like it!

    ** Update 05/22/09 **
I decided that from now on instead of creating multiple threads for my artworks it will be better just to update one. I'd like to see how my pictures evolve over time. Sorry if some are repeated from other threads. I'm just compressing my stuff in one place.

What do you think will be better? Keep posting my pics on the first page or keep posting them like replies on multiple pages?

Very well done, I love the subtle color palette you used, the shimmering greens, muted reds and oranges, and cool blues are soothing to the eye.

I have no criticism of technique. It looks great. But his horns look like they're growing out of the hump of his trapezius muscles, rather than from his head. I don't know if that's what you wanted, but it looks a little strange to me.

King Minos himself wasn't in any way related to the bull, but okay :p
I like it. Got a larger version?

Wow, I like the general color here. I like the minotaur's design (especially color choices) and the flow created by that little banner. I also like the lighting, although it's a little odd to me. Very nice!

Yeah, the horns are not coming from the head. They are independent from each other. You got it right. Maybe I should post a my initial concept for clarification (no hair). I always put odd details in my designs, but trying not to get too far from the original popular pre-conceived (archetype?) idea. I love to play with the notion of "why not". I also like to put people's mind a bit off balance.

    Regarding the spider creature

I'd go ahead and put the last set of legs in; you're doing a nice job putting the hind legs in the background, and I don't think it would detract from the picture at all.

Also I'd tone down the lettering. It competes with the creature way too much right now.

I'm a bit curious about the torso, though. It's a male torso; did you do that on purpose? (Yes I know it has breasts, but the musculature is very masculine.)

Thank you for a very interesting concept, well-rendered!

Actually yeah the character is kind of dud-ish as I noted on the description. It came by accident when I re sized it's head smaller. That made the chest look bigger. Suddenly it reminded me that Marilin Manson picture where he had a breast and instead of fixing it I just went ahead and pushed it farther. I'm pleased with how it looks right now. Maybe I'll add more texture to the skin later now that I took a closer look. I want a scary and distorted reality primarily. I'm really trying to run as far as possible from any "babe" connotation at this moment.
