    Perjin's sketchbook --- 12th July --- [nudity]

Hello there! I've been watching through this forum for a long time and finally
    decided to join.

The first image is the only picture i really finished since almost a year, the other
images are some speedpaintings from the last months.

Very nice work. I can already tell this is gonna be a sweet sketchbook. I especially love the one of the girl by the waterfall, that one is awesome. cheers'

    Thanks for the nice comments.

Camara you've got a point there on my images beeing to blurry, I'll try to paint some sharper edges in my pictures.

Did a speedpainting of a fight scene during school today (while I should have been doing other things).

hey Perjin, gonna join the chorus, really good start. I like the first two though I think you could add a bit more variations on the skintone of the waterfallgirl. but the rocks look great.
and the other landscape with the house has awesome colors. nice clouds as well.

Wow, great work so far, love the first one and all the speed paints.
This last one is impressive, I really like the interaction between the characters.

Love the angle you used on the giant good job there.

I'm loving the fight in school less... proportions seem a bit off.

I love the strong gesture of the upper right one. The rhythms overall are very nice. I think the girl on the right might be bent backwards a tad too far, but I could be wrong. I feel that some stronger use of overlaps could have made the girl on the bottom a bit more 3 dimensional, she looks a little flat as she is.

Overall, they look quite nice. I'm curious how much time each one took?

Ah, very nice. You have a dreamy quality to your work that I enjoy immensely. The fine details are smoothed out by colour and soft brush strokes. Very interesting choice. Any suggestions I make will be lost on your immense talent, but... A few of your dynamic poses seem to be lacking proper structure? Not completely sure. But the one you drew, the schoolyard fight one, the guy in the air seems awkward. He seems only to be leaning forward slightly and then BAM.. His lower half is up and sideways! Hmmm.. I wonder if you could put a skeleton underneath and see how to make it more.. Fluid? Not sure, not sure. But great job. Keep it up, I'd love to see more.

Cool stuff so far! Try some studies of anatomy and paint / draw stuff from life too - will help push your art to the next level!

    Keep up the good work!

    Salacuis, thank you.

Sir Cam, thanks. actually those two are the ones that took the most time because i just couldn't get them to look right, i spent like 5-10 minutes on each one.

Darlene, thanks. You are right about that fight scene the way he's flying through the air doesn't make sense. I should probably look up some references for those poses or study kung fu movies to understand how those jump kicks work.

kidult, thank you. Yes, you are right i should do more studies.

So here are some studies from photo reference and a speedpainting of a gnome death knight.

You're female sketches have such a nice soft look. It can be hard to do that and still maintain structure, they're very nice. I very much like the colors used on the drapery. I'm having difficulty finding anything to critique... A few of the recent sketches are a little blurry. Other than that everything looks really really great.

I've painted almost nothing in the last two months because WoW stole my time.

But I've got back to painting a few days ago, so here are three new pictures the first is just a sketch the other two are pretty much finished.

    Hehe i know the wow-problem
Try to imagine where u could be without wow. I stopped playing and tried to get beter in paiting.

The colors in your pics have a damn real look. How much reference is in there and how much is from your mind?

    Last one is really sweet!
