sorry for the redundancy but i wanted a continuous thread that wasn't titled "asian girl"
i'm reposting the first two and adding a third as bonus.

i often do sketches of scenes out of the Bible. admittingly, it is usually during a church service or bible study to help me focus and pay attention. there is a deliquent part of my brain that, if not occupied (i.e., sketching), will play the truant and wander off; dragging the remaining part along with it.

i've decided to do a series of sketches to help me deepen my understanding of clothing past and present. i still have dozens of pictures of my friends from college and have decided to use those photos as models and re–dress them in period clothing.
the book i'm using as a resource for the clothing is fashion drawing(doten and boulard; harper & bros, 1953)
Thats funny about sketching in church.
Nice figures, and clothing studies.
Maybe you could do some drapery studies from life also.

whew! i wasn't shure i was going to get one in before midnight. between ultimate frisbee in the pouring rain this morning and running the ice–cream store, i barely managed to get this one scanned in time. i'm continuing the series i started yesterday, only today, i cheated. in the photo i used today the person was already wearing the dress when i took their picture. sue me.
oh, ash, i will be doing alot of life studies very soon when i start my mfa in san fran this fall. of course, it wouldn't hurt to get a head start.
she's actually holding the dress on in the back. it was a display dress and was a few sizes too big. but without those circumstances we wouldn't have captured such an interesting pose.

continuing the fashion studies today. i've decided not to post on sundays, in case everybody was wondering about me yesterday.
i am particularly fond of this pose as it highlights my favorite muscle. 10 points to anyone who can guess it AND spell it correctly.
and to mr. joe - moments after this post i plan to start a public sketchbook specifically for Bible–based sketches and themes. i will kick it off with a couple of my own and hope others will join.

♥Barbossa♥: The world used to be a bigger place.
☆Jack Sparrow☆: The world's still the same. There's just ... less in it.

the ocean is so big that i figured if i made the creature vague enough the viewer would jump to their own individual conclusions.

i apologize for posting a bunch of old sketches all in a row but i'm rather busy doing a commission for some kids books. hope you like it, it is one of my favorites.

this is a sketch of a trained fighting–troll and its handler. i don't know its name, but by the lack of battle–scars i'd guess he's either really good or just about to enter his first match.
Yeah!!! very cool, I like your dragon continue your wonderful job.
What's that kids books thing?
the commission is for some "choose your own adventure" style kids books. they need alot of illustrations in a very short amount of time so the quality isn't going to be all that fabulous. but work is work and i definitely need the money to get me to san fran.
yep! cool jobs i like your strips they are relax
