Hello everyone, I'm going to be applying to SVA for this fall 2008 for computer animation and i was wondering, are letters of recommendations a factor at all? If i got some from my current professors would it help at all or should i not bother? also how important are gpas? Please give me any advice you might have.
Your best bet is always to talk to someone at the admissions office (212 592-2100). It's their job to answer questions like these. As for your GPA, sure it's important, everything is important. Is it more important than your portfolio? That probably depends on exactly how bad your GPA is.

Colegeboard.com has a section on each college on what they say factors most, kinda factors, and afterthoughts in the admissions dept. It is an excellent resource for stuff like this. I suggest you set up an account and peruse the site. You won't be sorry.
oh really? thanks!
No problem, it was a pleasure to be of service!
