It's been 2 months of practice digital painting. I will make this my consistent thread which I will update more often. I finished this one a couple of days ago, it is part of my Frazetta study.

As mentioned above... This was part of my Frazetta study as well... I did all my thumbs and roughs on Photoshop.
Okay, I've posted these. The Samurai I changed the hand and cleaned it up a bit, the right hand looked too fat. The Robot I put more highlights to make it stand out more. The biker girl I made no changes...
A company gave me an art test just recently and had me design a lunch truck/Chinese restaurant, also with realistic style (line art like GTA). This was good practice to brush up on my drafting skills and perspective.
Thanks for the input... They want to hire me. Right now there are a other opportunities I've looking into as well. I've just started looking for work the last month or so. I've been ramping up my skills. I'm getting back in the industry after being out of it for some time.
These are a couple of studies I did this last week as well
hey thanks for the comment in my sb!
your works look great, the frazetta studies rock! though i like the pencil sketch is better then the digital painting, to much of the same color i think. maybe try some different lightsources. anyway, keep 'm coming!!
Not much I can really say, awesome SB so far. I like the Samurai stuff, the werewolves one is pretty scary! and I love the lunch truck I really really wish we had one of those at my work!
A: Because everybody knows that white is the default race.
Thanks for the input Frank... I'm glad you said that. I'm still pretty new to dp and painting been at it for a couple months now. My next studies will be doing high and low key color scheme pallets. I'm trying to get a better understanding of color as well. I'll get some new stuff up soon. I look forward to getting more input and critiques.
More studies and practice... Trying out different techniques.
I am toward the end of my Frazetta study and moving toward Jim Murray's style. I tried mixing the two styles together.
Here's some of my older wk which i will dp and hopefully get some Star Wars stuff up soon...
More sketches and drawings
Just finished this today... Let me know what you think. Thanks!
Some mo pencil work... Let me know watcha think...
It's been some time since... I've posted I haven't had much time the last month and a half. I'll be posting new stuff soon. I cleaned up this one...
some older sketches... Not too old. I am always welcome to input. It's been very helpful!
Something I was messing around with. During the process in doing this painting I had to do some changes. I've been working dp off a sketch/thumbnail in Photoshop.
I was watching it (the Peter Jackson version) and I was inspired.

I couldn't sleep so I pulled an all nighter to finish this. I like painting in the middle of the night. I'm at peace to just do art. It's tough when you have triplet baby girls running around during the day. Here's a closeup of his face. I am really working trying to improve making backgrounds. Please feel free to give me some input... I want to learn and get better
It aint flat at all. I love it!!! You have a lot of frazetta in you but especially Justin Sweet Id say. Keep rocking.
As a suggestion, try to use more falloffs in your lighting, which means dont lit an entire figure with the same intensity, make a centre of lighting and then tone t down throughout the figure.
You work rocks man!!!
Thanks. I'm going to apply that center light technique. Also, I'll check out Justin's work. Keep bring on the critiques, I want to keep growing. Also, I really need learn Dreanweaver so I can put this stuff on my site...
Love the SW sketches, from your last coloring I see you are improving your style
Nokil. Thanks for the input and help fr your e-mail.
My first Mech... DP. I'll post the finished one early this week. Let me know what you think
Your pencil stuff is pretty awesome- so much detail and complexity. The CG is pretty cool too, but I think perhaps that some of the subjects are standing out of their backgrounds a lot, maybe choose duller colors and/or not shading so much with black shadows and white highlights but darker colors that have more hue? Other than that, pretty cool King Kong. :] Keep it up.
Shalite: Thanks alot for the input. You can never stop improving!
