    3D Barbarian

This is my latest personal project I am working on, I wanted to create a barbarian in a mid action pose, I used XSI and Zbrush so far. I' ve just finished posing in ZBrush now I am just refiniing small areas. I'll update the post when I have started the texturing.

    Wow...nice model there.

I just wanted to ask about ZBrush. The textures, did you paint them directly on the model in ZBrush or you used another application?and do you need to uvmap the model before applying the textures?

Recently,I have been seeing a lot of works done with ZBrush and I gather its very easy to learn and use and gives its user more freedom than most applications. If one can apply textures directly after modelling...that would be super.

    Thanks.

So for my wraith model I block modelled and unwrapped in XSI, exports as a obj to Zbrush then Texture in Photoshop. You can paint directly in zbrush however I've never had much succes with it and I've never encountered anyone who has recomened it and I have no idea how to export the texture.

This is the only model I've ever textured in Zbrush and it was on of my first models I created.

Yeah...the texturing in the model in the link doesn't look good but I have seen a couple of works done with ZBrush texturing that looks really good.Guess everyone has their own preferences.
After seeing the pic,I tried using the 3D paint tool in Maya to see what I could come up with.Hope you don't mind me posting this pic in your thread;I did the textures for this model completely in Maya with the 3D paint tool,no photoshop or any other software.:

    Quick update

These are Model display sheets I created of my last four models, I assembled these so a company could display them to give clients an idea of my modelling capability.

Melviso, your maya texturing looks solid, I haven't spent much time using the maya paint tools although I might give it a shot to see if I can cut down on my time frame.
