    yeah, man, i saw this stuff too now, and I'm pretty much impressed with the buildings designs... do they really ask you to give 'mechanical explanation' to stuff or perhaps it's a personal thing?

    I really love your style! I'm a little pressed for time but I am totally going to have to come back and check it out again. A feast for the eyes!

    Wow Nubb, i am really impressed with the ilu are bringing to life here. It has a very attracting feel to it, even in that early stage.

    You asked for some thoughts, here is one.

    Maybe you could put a warm light, which is casting its beams on a tool wall (or something like that) and on the character, in the backround to give it a more harmonious look. Of course more subtile than i did here in this mashup based on bad photographs.

    I hope this helps.

    D = Dark
    L = Light

    Love your brushmarks! I think the storytelling will be better and less ambiguios if the wrench is connected to a nut, i.e. not hovering indecisively but he's actually using it.

    Question

    Hi again Nubb,

    May I be so bold as to axe a question?

    I love your color choices and am wondering how much of that is simply intuitive...or how much you rely on theory.

    For example over here

    http://conceptart.org/forums/showpos...&postcount=117
    you show a "real color wheel".

    So do you keep something like that open as you work, generally preselecting from it? Do the dots on the color wheel show your general value choices in those hues?

    I've ordered James Gurney's color book...but really like the way you get a wide range of color but it all seems so cohesive.

    Thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas you're willing to give me.

    @Andre1991 This mechanical explanation is pretty much my initiative however it helps production team when they don't have to place some faked mechanisms on highlighted or exposed areas. They'd have to attach this wheel to that panel anyway so it helps if the have some sort of reference. Thanks for visiting mate
    @Nimhea You are FAR too kind. Thank you.
    @Obstbrand Huge thanks for that feedback. I wanted to place some heavy machines in the back to make the 'machinery room' mood. Again thank you for the effort, you're the best man.
    @Nengrana Thanks for cheering words. About that color wheel - I don't use it anymore
    @carnalizer Absolutely agree with you about that wrench. Thanks for pointing that out. Many thanks.
    @Jephyr X Again about that color wheel - I don't use it anymore. I went through Lin Ran's Light and Color Tutorial and I've found it very helpful. Thanks to Allan Xia's aka paperX courtesy you can find it translated to English on the web. It's not an easy method but far better than picking colors from pallets, swatches etc.

    Thank you all kind chaps for such support and visiting. Sorry I couldn't reply to all of you personally but know that your presence is very appreciated and it means a lot to me. See ya all soon with some art I hope ( hope that it'll be soon and hope that you could call it art )

    Looks like you've answered this a few times before.
