I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

Looking good... However. I think the buildings look a bit greyish? If you applied some color theory to the process it might look a bit more vibrant. Make the stuff in the light warmer and add some blues reflected from the sky in the shadows.

These buildings are impressive. I'm especially liking these new ones so far. Also, your last master study turned out great. For some reason, they are the only things that I just can't get excited about doing.

Trouble is the building is a bit grey, but I've changed the ground colour to what I think it should be. I'm going to widen it a lot, but this is going to take a different reference taken at a different angle - shouldn't be that hard. My original reference has a flipping coach in front of the building and trees obscuring other bits. Then of course there is always the bad perspective from photos to sort out.

Redid the bottom half as I found more references - they've cleaned it up a lot. While it looks like a lot of detail, it's mainly scribble. Went back and pushed some of the values as well. I'm only going to do the horizontal brickwork as I don't think the verticals add to it.

Nice vector work Blackspot. Really like your multi coloured self portrait. Yes I have returned, after a mandantory hospital visit and long recuperation. Now trying to crank up my motivation to sketch. Love your work, excellent as usual.

Please check my SB and crit, I need help.

You are a true example for how miracles CAN happen Mrs. Spot!
Just as Michael Jackson appeared on my sisters wedding, although
everybody was betting against that factor. Inspiration
and desire on the same page, mixed herbs and fumes, you can make
it huge. A large entrance with lots of divine promising effort. You have
proved how values can be pushed and presented a horizontal brickwork
tile in a totally different light. Some of them who wander day and night,
should take bigger chunks from your beautiful mind.
The color of the sky can be represented other than those seen
in the Venetian night bars, surely pure and refined touch on that part,
you have manifested one more very successful manoeuver and step.
Softly spoken, each time I came here to visit your new creations
I become happy as a Goffin Cockatoo parrot and feel
one step closer to my highest and happiest dreams.
A shiny wizard of the modern love warfare with
a serious look is how you count in our books.

    Hi Black Spot,

I'm really liking the progress on the most recent piece you have. All those small details across the building are looking mighty fine.

This is barely an update. My old computer kept crashing on me and I'd been saving up for a new one, so I went and got one - 8Gb RAM as opposed to only 2Gb. Transferring everything took a lot longer than I'd hoped as I moved from XP to Win 7 and had to find where they put everything. Hopefully, I'm just about there.

As you can see, I've expanded it a lot more as I found more references and I even found a model in Google Sketchup warehouse.

I like the vector buildings. Almost reminds me of cel shaded 3d models all ready for animation. A lot of details but at the same time not overwhelming for the eyes because you keep the design clean.

I tend to get nervous vector programs because they tend to crash a lot. So I work in two versions of the same file in case one of the files corrupt.

Make a sketchbook happy, feed it a tip to improve!

8GB of RAM?! I guess I'm still pretty outdated on the new things out there, I still have the feeling that 2GB of RAM is really a lot.
I really love your last update, looks very serene and beautiful. Hopefully I'll be able to see it done soon, really a pleasure

Sorry for not posting for ages. My computer wouldn't let me open my drawing programs and I spent miles too long looking for a solution. Eventually, I returned it factory settings and started again, which has done the trick. Also I've had my mother staying for the last 2 weeks (couldn't get to my art stuff) and then I changed 2 rooms over, which means I've moved. Still haven't moved everything yet, but nearly there.

Let me be the first one, who will forgive you for not posting for such a long time.
After all, you are a true soft hearted endangered dragon kind, hidden under the
pillow like northern velvet sky. Last decade, the youth has gone wild, but
not under your watch, not while you are monitoring. It will not happen.
You will always stand and never fall. New beginners should and will
take examples from your everyday life, new beginners will be taking
out pages from your books. St Pauls cathedral looks more evolved than
ever. George St Pierre was tackling around the building on a regular
basis just before he get famous. A few beers, a takeaway Chinese food
and he was happy for the rest of the evening. Now you can clearly
conclude that he succeeded thanks to giving big percent of his
attention to St Pauls. You are digging the way of success without
any doubt. Let the temperature be high or low, let the weather
be bad or good, you will NEVER fail. So many things I love
about you. Self portrait has some high spirit rejuvenating
attentions in it. Deep and clear. Muddy shadows and mystic
look in the eyes, makes a frozen goose to dive. I truly
have been pleased to look and watch your progress,
and to be in the vicinity to such a great person as you
are Mrs. Spot. A true honor.

I know the feeling with computer issues. I randomly got a virus out of nowhere that was nasty just from a program to record my screen (because it's neat seeing your doodles on the computer in fast forward as they go from nothing to completed). Had to completely reformat the computer back and wipe everything. Didn't have barely anything to back up files either so lost a lot of WIP's I was working on without thinking.

St Pauls is looking good. I never had the attention for intricate geometric pieces even in a vector based program. The expansion to the canvas is fitting well.

Just thought of it after I mentioned vector based programs. But if you've never tried the program "Alchemy" it's a free drawing program that's really fun to doodle in. Especially quick doodles. It's a bit different than regular drawing though in that a lot of it is based on shapes and not defined lines. I notice your using a vector based drawing program recently and you also like to do quick sketches occasionally. It's usually what I use when I'm feeling in the mood for something really quick to just scribble on. Pretty simple to learn too. Just mess around with the tools and options and see what you come up with. There is no undo or layers etc. So what you see is what you get. Just thought I'd throw it out there since a lot of people probably have never heard of it or tried it and eh why not. It's free haha.

Wow, that vector building is incredible. I love the details that you're putting into it, and I hope you push it to the finish.

Also, I like your self-portrait and the way you applied those tones. Really gives a strong impression of diffused lighting.
