Your portraits are looking really good...I especially like the self portrait with the squiggly lines. I'm going to have to try that sometime.

I keep changing my mind on the thumbnails and I'll be doing a ton more before I'm satisfied.

The last couple of days I've been a different kind of painting - ie painting walls white. Spending your weekend up a ladder is not really my type of fun, although I used to enjoy it a lot more.

This has meant I've been absolutely knackered, but I've started another master study and this is it 1 hour in. Still needs tons to do on it.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

Finished the room and dressed it, so had a little time to work more on the master study.

Thanks. I keep having to do other things, which is quit frustrating. Here's an up date on the Master Study.

Looks really good, the one thing my eye draws to is the nose on the top figure. Feels maybe a bit too far off the face at least compared to the mouth but I'm not sure.

Refined it really well so far from the rough piece.

Good work on the latest master study. I really like the earlier stage, though, it had a lot of interesting shapes going for it.

Anyway, keep drawing and updating this sketchbook.

I'm really liking the master study and it has inspired me to do another one. No crits as I think someone else already pointed out the issue with the nose of David.

    Good job.

The play of saturation on the skintones is great on the latest one.

Still working on it when I can. I keep noticing errors, but I've got to the stage where I think I can live with them. The whole picture should be more compact. Reworked the nose and am reworking the flesh.

Figured out what was bugging me on the arm and have now corrected it. I have also figure out what was wrong with the main leg, but haven't corrected that yet - major surgery ahead. The more I look the more errors I see. I need to concentrate more at the beginning.

I agree with Alesoun. This shows quite a bit of improvement with skin tones from your previous studies.

Keep pushing it go go go go haha
Didn't really pay attention to the main leg but I do see it now that you mention it.
I tried taking the pose in real life, and the only thing I noticed was the pose is a bit uncomfortable unless the knee is bent more in the front leg

yeh trying to fix the errors later on in the game can be hell. The thing is though, sometimes even when I draw things out and think i got it pretty accurate,it doesn't become apparent how inaccurate the drawing is until I start rendering.Really like how this is coming on though,I especially like the halftone areas of the arm.Great job.

I remember that painting. You blocked in a lot of painting in just one hour and nailed down the majority of the placement down. I like the details in the cloth. I'm sure when you have time, you'll paint in the ground which the man is standing on.

Spot, i'm not going to even ask how you were able to get that much in less than an hour. And the finished product is really crisp. I still got a long ways to go, but hopefully i can acquire at least half of your skill in some span of time.

Pigeonkill there isn't much of a ground to paint, just a couple of random objects.

Thanks VK, yes it Carravaggio's David.

Ghast, when I've finished I'll show some close ups so you can see what I do to get texture in there.

Thanks tto the rest of you. I've been slacking. Also got a wart on the pad of my index finger, which makes drawing painful at times as the chemicals start to dissolve it.

Realigned the leg and worked on the arm and hands. The elbow still needs more work.

The beauty of this painting has hit the surface
in a bone snapping fashion. No ordinary roots can
be found among the cauliflowers anymore.
A cold sweat went down my abdomen, as
I saw the details you have put in this one.
Highly pressured impressive performance Mrs. Spot.
