Thanks for dropping by my SB.
I like these little button things you're doing, how many do you have planned?
I see you're also going for a bit of complimentary colours for the shadows, nice.
    Keep at it!

Ferret and another hamster. Not sure how many I'll do. There's another 5 or 6 animals before I take a break.

OmG! Those buttons look so cute. Please provide a link to your friend's website.

And that hand turned out very nice, now do the other one

The thread in the lounge was a big shock. I've copied my SB (still filling in the pictures), so I have everyone's links to blogs, websites etc. I pray it doesn't shut down, but if it does, I just want to say a big thank you to all the wonderful people I've met here and shit I'll miss you big time.

That hand turned out well... Well, perhaps not 'well' with the gore and all X)

And the animals are cute. Something to work on for those might be the values though. Some seem a bit too bright, like they're shining.

The animals are much better than my attempts. I have such difficulty doing furry animals in values let alone colors. They are real tricky to do as each bit of fur has a shine, shadow, tuft and angle, and the detail can go big and overwhelming pretty quickly.
They would make cute buttons though. I'd like to see a link to the site when your done.

Another couple of buttons. The recent drama sort of stopped me wanting to draw for a few days so I have lost time to make up.

Seagulls, fur is hard. I'm scribbling with vectors that sort of cancel bits out. I'm not linking to my young friend's site until he has finished updating it. He's already using a few of my vegetables and has credited me.

I really like those animals. Are you cutting the bg out around them for transparency? It makes them look a little edge-y or something. They're cute tho.

No, the back colour is solid but I don't always cover it adequately, softening it. It's something I'm working on.

I was just browsing through your other SB pages. Those hands recently are top notch. I really like the gore experiment.

I've been meaning to check out your sketchbook, sorry it took so long, and thanks for looking at my snail sculpture. I was sick of drawing furry creatures after drawing The Whistler's cat, but your awesome animals have given me a boost. They've got so much character! -ooh! Right as I type this a big fat squirrel popped up by my window! It must be a sign...

LOL. Seagulls is a member who draws seagulls and drops in here.

GoGoJoJo that is definitely a sign – squirrel sculpture coming up?

Today's sketch is a plum, done before my youngest ate it.

that hand and the plum are your best yet. The plum, especially, feels like a whole other artist. For once, the texture isn't just scratchy digi pencil, but the softness and coolness of the skin of the fruit.

The digi animals are good drawing studies, but some, like the rabbit and the hamster read as flattened studies of photos. The ferret is better because you've emphasized his form more.

Love the colors of the hand, there's lots of subtlety and complexity. Why butcher it at the end? Was there a reason other than personal interest? Oh, and congrats on five stars!!!

Thanks. Now I have to get the shadow right - the plum is slightly floating.

I was fed up with improving the hand and took and axe to it, possibly childish, but very satisfying.

Wow! I need to stop being so lazy and check on CA once in awhile...

You've done a lot of work since I have been here last. The hand turned out great. I love the animals and I especially like the plum. It's very life-like. Thanks for the inspiration!!

I'm seeing alot of progress in these buttons. The rabbits fur is very lifelike. I think you have also nailed the plums skin, the diffusion is very nice. You are improving, keep it up!

I started this last night after a bottle of wine, then my youngest moved the light. I've been very busy with Christmas preparations and haven't had much time to work on it. If I don't finish tomorrow I will abandon it as the grapes are getting a bit ripe.

The edges on the fruit are some of your best and the animals are looking just great.
You must be really happy with the progress you have made.
Well done on the star rating.

I'm not sure if you've already said this, so sorry, but what is your friend's website about, or going to be about? I'll have to look at it when it's done. And when I do make a squirrel sculpture, I'll be sure to send it to you. (Send money order, shipping and handling fees do not apply)

He's 14 and it's about animal care. The whole site is his design (using WebPlus) and all his writing. He was using pics found on the net and was told that was wrong, so I offered to help.

Back to sour grapes. I'm actually enjoying painting them as they deteriorate so another day might not hurt and I've had hardly any time today to draw. The stalk layer is omitted in this one.

Had to abandon the grapes as they shrivelled too much. Tangerines this morning. Base shadow still not right.

Thanks for dropping by my SB, I had a good christmas as well.
The texture looks good on the last one, but to my eyes it looks really sharp and dry.
Maybe bring up the brighter reflections more and don't be afraid to work big.
