My name is Will Furneaux and I started this sketchbook to help improve my drawing and painting and digital sculpting skills, so that I can eventually apply for a job using those skills. Go to last page to see latest stuff.

a couple of acrylic paintings, these are my most recent traditional paintings believe it or not. fer the kiddies.
A commision (sp!?) digital sketches then final was in acrylic on stretched canvas. the colours look kinda fucked on the final but i think that was cause of the crap light and crap camera, and maybe the crap operator.

Yeah I've been trying to get my techniques sorted in the digital area. those first sketches which look like pencil are in photoshop. my scanner died so i've been drawing in photoshop lately. Some digital sketches and stuff for COW

Using Painter for the digital paint figuring out brushes and how i can work them. I seem to have lost a bit of confidence with colour latley dunno why. I am partially red/green colour blind but that hasn't stopped me before. just a bit outta practice probebly.
awesome work Hybrid, is that scratch board?
Some good stuff here. Your monotone/B&W stuff is the real strong point (probably not helping your confidence with colour). Great tonal range.
my sketches here... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92997
www.sevans.co.nz , visit them or a puppy dies!
Definitely got some cool stuff here. That zbrush skull is real impressive.
To answer your question about life drawing: I think this site is reasonably up to date. I go to the wellington arts center (Toi Poneke) on Monday mornings, but I think the Vincent's sessions are the more popular ones.
Ok so trying to do enviroments, a bit like getting blood from a stone from me but its never too late and some octopus sketches and face sketches.
Trying the silhouette technique I'm probebly doin it wrong just trying things/techniques that i like the look of and think I could actually achieve.
Some updates on the deep creatures, I'm thinking of doing some sort of farm type setup. as is fish farm, if you've ever been to the monterey aquarium It's the Tuna swimming around that massive tank. Just awesome. so I'll have to do an enviroment and character as well. Thats what the nautilus rider is I'll do more variations on mounts first.
Very, very nice. Your anatomy is great, you've got style nailed, shapes, all the basics, I can only see good things coming here.
I do find a disturbing lack of environments though, can you do atmospheric?
Edit: You need to change your thread thumbnail to one of those painting or something with colour man, it would get more love if it stands out
wow those are some sweet creatures, you have an amazing imagination. I know what your saying about working the mass before adding the details, sometimes I just can help myself, I need disciplin! Great work.
as the title says ....WOW !
some amazing artwork, love the "realism" and depth of ur drawings.

Nice style you've got here so far. You've got epic anatomy skills.
oh wow brilliant sb here, pretty wicked style and your creature designs are great the flying pig is hilarious, your 3d is also very nicely done. only thing i can say is in your paintings try pushing the values more to help w/ the contrast especially your lights, simple highlights would really help bring out the images a lot more. well keep it up i wanna see more.
To live is to create, to create is to live. Without art and music, I do not know how I would get by in my day to day life.
