Some minor details of the suit are little off, the shoulder / chest guard comes too far down, the breather is a little too wide, but the part that stands out is the right arm holding the lightsaber, it doesn't seem to have any mass under his cape; plus why is he holding it so far back tucked almost under his cape like that? It looks forced to be there, it would naturally be probably 6 or 8 inches lower across his thigh. Still very striking, good lighting.

Nice Darth Vader. The picture has a great feel for his menacing character.

Regarding The Original [E]'s post, I think the helmet might be off due to perspective issues. The top half of the helmet looks as if the camera level is significantly lower than his head, while the bottom half of the helmet looks like the viewer is at eye level with his mouth.

Be aware of perspective problems. Establish your horizon and vanishing points and make sure all figures agree with it. The horizon is all over the place depending on where you focus.

Watch out on the anatomy - his left forearm seems to be broken. As kraal pointed out, try to tackle every aspect of the picture (composition, anatomy, lighting, perspective, etc.) before jumping into the final rendering.

Hope that helps and best of luck

I invite you to do that with your arm, then take a picture and post it.

This might actually help you to create proper reference... or break your arm to the point you can't draw for a while. Either way I feel I would have proven my point.
