    Will Elder passes away

This sucks. I was just reading that legendary Mad Magazine artist Will Elder has died. Not sure how, perhaps old age as he was 86. Truly one of Mad's best artists. He crammed so many hidden jokes in the background, you had to read his stories more than once.

A sample of his work for those unfamiliar with his stuff.

Loved his work. One of the funniest artists of all time. He was an underground comic artist before there was such a thing.

One of the truly great comic artists, and one of the first people to make me laugh out loud hysterically when I read his stuff. He, Wally Wood and Walt Kelly are still my favorite cartoonists of all time, and it's close to 60 years now since they were grinding out their best...

    Thank you, Mr. Elder...
