You've definitely got something going there; for a first post this is actually pretty good! What I'd say you need to practice most is anatomy and lighting, the latter being somwhat off in your last painting. Though if you keep up that two-sketches-a-day plan you should get a solid grip of both soon.
Another suggestion: if you already haven't cashed out 20 bucks on that book of yours, don't just yet! There are lots of great art books that no longer have copyright and are thus downloadable for free legally. This thread and this one have excellent lists; the first even has download links!
been quite busy recently, had alot of college work in for end of year , thease two are just random sketches painted up, nutting too special
Two quick paintings for the daily sketch group, nothing special, plus random gun sketches , for my little project, i could do with buying that massive black dvd and getting my guns good, could anyone gimme any tips so i dont have to buy it
random concept for a little project i got going n my head lol
Nice start, i'd try posing your characters a little more tho', they're all very stiff-backed/upright so far. People do bend.

cheers for the reply, yeah i see what you mean i will definatly take your advice on board, i didnt like the last guy too much and i found a new technique of painting so i fought i would redo him here he is
I agree with the poses, but this is a good start.
Just keep posting, you'll see the improvement easily, you're already getting better
1 hr speed painting, not sure if that is too long but meh .. , you can tell i like the glowing eyes thing lately
Thanks for dropping by my sketchbook.
Great stuff from imagination, keep it up! I would suggest you started drawing from life every day. Start with fruits and random objects around the house. Also take up on anatomy. There's plenty of do on those and they will help you greatly!
beginning of something good hopefully, simple sketch, but most my ideas come when i start painting anyway
thanks for the comment, do you know if that book is still in print anywhere i would much rather have it in front of me that on the screen :s , but yeah i will check it out thanks
heres a few more stages, going away for a few days, this wont be done for a wile lol
another preview proberly the last for a few days
Great start. Keep plugging away. Study anatomy. My fave one of yours you have here is post #12.
thanks for the comment Oakseed, its great to have some feedback from people, makes me feel like im getting somewhere cheers
another preview of whatever this thing is, i was thinking maybe a war of the worlds rip off lol, anyone got any ideas?
i really like this sketch, its the result of being pissed off with girls and blasting music, i know that has no relevance to the drawing but yeah.. lol, im really happy with this sketch i would love some c and c on it, i will be painting this up shortly, i was thinking he is some kind of industrial dealer for robotronic/ steam punk body replacement parts :s
another stage, put the base of colour down,
yeah long way ahed.. but you're already get better!
my suggestion is, get yourself a good anatomy book and study every day some of those, than look at some photos in magazines (or alike) and THAN draw from life as much as you can (use yourself as a model)!
as for the paintings... try to use different lightsources in more than just one colours and even than things in real life are never based on only one colour, but of many differend ones! so try to mix them
hope this helps a bit
have a nice day and keep up the practice
