Just a 1 hour quickie before I go to class.

Liked the idea, but don't think I delivered on what I'd hoped for, may do more with it later.

Trying to keep it quick and readable. The bones could use more detailing. Should have made the wall higher than the horizon like looks kind of goofy.

    Hour or so.

I took an hour, but started over 3 times. For some reason, I just can't get this one to work... I'm going to try a completely different picture.

Hey peeps, I went with grey-scale on this one. I'm hoping to finish it up in color for a final piece. Thanks for the great topics to charge the brain up with cool ideas. This one took me approx. an hour and a half. Crits welcome
(oh..and i did use a reference for the kiddies and experimented with M@'s brush set..i would have to say a pretty nice set of brushes )

Color scares me. This is even rougher than before, but I just can't wrap my head around valueandcolor.

Ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?

c4l3b high contrast equals foreground, so turning it up globally does nothing for depth.
You can see where I have very obviously made my foreground high contrast warm colours so
the background is then heading towards muddy low contrast colors (not enough though).

Changed this up a little, listening to anthis's comments.

Changed the sky, tried to make the clouds look like a maze, not completely successful but I think the perspective works better than the first image, the values sit better with the rest of the picture. Thickened the walls. Lightened shadows on the ground so that the person's shadow is easier to see. I also tilted the horizon line to make it more dramatic, the verticals now lean towards the two people trapped in their little dark rectangle.

Hey guys. here is mine. Took me about an hour. I started to get frustrated the further I went. I think its because I was trying to get to bed. I am going to have to come back to this one and finish it. It's apparent where my attention span starts to grow thin. There is still a lot of work and refining to be done. Oh well. It's a good start for now.

I will return tomorrow to write some comments on everyone elses work, but for now I need to get some sleep before class tomorrow morning. Keep up the good work everyone!
