Seraph Fawkes-eheh thanks mate you are right on the point. The first one is the original i was working without finishing it(i havent put the darker shadows) and the others experiments with level adgjudgements .
    zou-Thank you very much comrade
Grassy-THnx very much Grassy. Will try make everything better
Giorge-Thnx mate, dont worry i am getting rid of the vivid layer coloring soon, and i will use it for special reasons(and not the main coloring).Heheh no no, its been a long time since i saw any statues and these were at Rome.I havent been in any museum lately here.Thnx very much
Krato-Thank you kevin.I think soon i will do a study of him, probably a hand or so.
knut--Thank you dhmhtrh. The ass book is with the simple stylus ( Bic or whatever)
zenichi-Thank you very much mate.I am honored
    Metal Fingers-Thank you mate!!!!
Cameli-Ela man ok i will do faces, cause i see i need more on them .Ok as i will post here, lately i am working into putting color both with normal or color mode layer (these are the more accurate for the values, at least for now).If you have a greyscale work and after you read Linrans tutorial, you can make a normal mode layer pick up the value and keep the brightness almost similar(some colors may be need to be brighter) and adjust the sliders to the color you need, then place it down to the exact value range(wherever you will have the same value(thats why its important to use limited values). Now if thats confusing now, you can place some basic colors with another layer, or give a try in the color mode layer and then you will have to work them more and more in order for them to be accurate with your greyscale values (but not getting the grey underneith them(so you have to work on them like where they become with 100% opacity). A good way to check if your colors are quite matching the greyscale(your values) is to turn the color version in greyscale and see how much difference there is (if a low value/black is white when you turn the colored version in greyscale then you are probably wrong).Thank you very much mate.
Eddieee-thank you very much eddie i very glad!!!

Here is the link to LINRANs tutorial http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...38#post2097738

great values as always mate !

also thanks for sharing your experiments, when i read Linran's tutorial i thinked of forcing myself to always start in color although i don't master the thing, but to avoid this kind of thing. after reading your thought, dunno what to adopt as a habit. cause i like beginning B/W but i thought that it was because i'm not very confident with colors.

Woot woot, yes we must both draw moooaaaaaarrr faces! That enviro is bloody sweet, the lean on the front left half track seems a bit strange, I think it should be tilted more to the viewers left away from us, unless its on some sort of ball socket and rotates in all manor of directions and in that case, disregard errthang I just said.

the ingres studies are great, and the enviro is very well achived..
thanks for the color related notes, they´re useful.. I usually begin applying color direcly over the linework, I have to learn to block colors correcly but sometimes i need to see the line to feel more secure.
    keep it up man

The last image of the girl and the greenery felt really nice and effortless. I'm glad you put your thoughts on color down as well. If I have a clear enough sketch down, it seems I'll start throwing color in earlier, but if everything is unknown, greyscale would seem the more smart choice while a person explores Good job. Be a little careful of the extremely high frequency texture brush you've used around the woman - its subtle enough and only used on the plants in this case, however, which is why I think its helping

Metal Fingers-hehehe my name is kostas , we are close but its your surname.Cheers mate
Jakers-eheheh i used some dissolve .THank you mate, yep grayscale is a very good study system i think, of course color follows up with its own certain properties like also playing with temperature and such.Still a lot of things to understand

ok ok today i had to study at least some more spanish or do some of the uni things but damn i was out all day.Anyway came home and ofcourse i didnt had the mood for non-art-study things , thats the most important anyway.
Thank you very much for the great support!!!!
started by using a ref of frodo, of course i hadnt count,so it became different person but i liked it more with that character (i think i like more the smaller experiments.
and some small animation 20 frames.I am working a somehow bigger one for the animation class, and i am still back , and we start exams soon lol.

    see ya

very cool stuff again! great color choice for the full body person with the swords i think his head is a little big, also giving him an awesome helmet would really help the painting :p oh also watch his legs he is leaning pretty far forward. also the tree animation is neat!

the animation is pretty silly, when the hair comes back up, i'd make the spring from down to up more sudden, then slow it down a bit with a couple frames of the hair bouncing up and down a bit, this would give a bit more bounce to the flop and add a little more rhythm and motion. Love all those portraits, I'm gonna do a bit more loomis first before I get some digi portraits going. Cheers.

Such beautiful figures and colours, I'd love to know how you get such painterly soft edges in certain areas. I just noticed you're from Greece - I'm originally from Greece too

Krato-hehe thnx very much kevin.Nahh actually cause i made him fast and position the head in a place where the legs would go out of the canvas on the proper size.So actually i had small legs here and was lazy to relocate him.Thnx
Metal Fingers-Thank you very much alex.Hehe you are right, when i will study deeper into animation i will keep all these in mind.
Vatsel-Thank you very much mark.Yep needs a lot of things
krel-haha thank you krel!!!.I think i got it by keeping up , you will get it to
monstertree-Hello George, thank you very much .Heheh i saw your surname and understood you have some relation. Can you point a specific region in a work? to understand exactly on which soft regions you are reffering to. Thnx
Seraph Fawkes- thank you very much mate.Nice the world is small

spent a lot of time doing assigements and spanish, so i just did a quite quick study of phil hale (just a part of a work with not paying attention to exact copy of the sketch but in the general value system etc.) and a quick color mode layer value translation
(in the 100% size i was forced to reduce the quality a little for kb matters but i think it can still offer the more detailed view of the strokes etc.)

thank you very much for the great support!!!i will comment tommorow cause i have to sleep early
