Diverse-thnx mate .Dont worry, you think i do only this much of work?I am preparing a more than colossal colossal colossal colossal update with pencil works, but i just forgot to take my scanner,i just do these digi works on the side
Lyno-I think i will right on paper some of the "general understandings" that might be useful additional info.So whatever understanding i will say you have to read it as an additional info and not as a standar.Because the way i achieve some understandings is the result of continuous researching on the basics.
I am not sure if i can find a scanner here

    thnx for supporting

EDIT:adding another quick coloring study.immediate coloring)

Nice color study! It looks like there's a strong light source coming from the front which means you might want more contrast...so don't be afraid to go darker in areas that don't get any of that light and some strong cast shadows. Keep it up!

Great still life too Doing more color studies from life would help you notch your colored piece up a level.

Again cool update man . Though I'm not sure the metal surface studies came out well. I'll think you have to spend some more time on them, even it's a speed training.

    MacTire-Thnx man
zou-I am trying really hard to understand somethings that i will be able to tell when i will be sure about them.Thnx
    Braintree-Thnx mate !!!
Lyno-Yep i need to work a loooot more and i am a little angry with my self.

    Here todays late piece.
I putted a lot of research(pure research on color texture and such, working on the same things over and over again)
No refs used, nothing additional like photos or anything ready for texture.Textured brushes from photoshop itself.
THere is something magical guys like Cicinimo and others doing and i will try really hard to achieve it.

Thats for now, i have a lot to do non-art
See ya all and thnx for supporting

    today's morning speed metal training.
    No refs, nothing.
A brush with a photoshop texture to egt a feeling of a textured surface and the feeling of traditional media
I simply imagined i had a life model composition in front of me
Anyway i think i learned something after these trainings.
    See ya

Biomecha_wolf-Thnx mate !!!Since i bought the tablet,i have been using 100% opacity and using brush with shape dynamics and other dynamics to get opacity>pressure
Other than that, sometimes for special reasons i may lower the opacity

    Lets all keep up!!!!!!!!

    Haha, cool stuff King .
Do you see how you're rendering of metal is getting better and better? I think it's because your smoothing things more out. In post #702, you still see the graduation in your rendering. Post #707 is great .

Thanks for your thoughts on the quick sketching thing btw .

Sorry about that, my jaw just hit the keyboard...

    I think that's a suitable compliment anyway!
I realise this of all things seems odd to point out, but that panel running across the top of this newest piece really looks like corrugated metal, nice one!!!

Regardless, keep up the great work mate!!

Giorge-Thanks mate !!!!i will check when you will update
Lyno-You are right. Its something about rendering "compact" in some things, while other things need graduation only in the sides and in the 70% middle, just the flat color/value.I am still researching it
MacTire-haha thnx mate, thnx for encouraging !!!

Really thank you all very much for keeping me up.You are the best

Now another speed-over/under same time with the previous(for completion)
    No refs etc etc.
As you see i am making a collection of some characters of my old good captain king crew
    Follow them on their adventures
Playing while training is less boring.

    See ya

that last one is awesome man! great dramatic lighting and saturation. really makes it pop! looks like u have a great foundation to your anatomy and environments. looking forward to seeing more! little crit on post 707 tho. i think u should spread the big guys legs a bit. for a machine of his size the pilot would want him to be pretty stable for refueling eh. just little things like that make works that much more believable. awesome work man!

Dude! awsome updates man the robot with the shadow looks killer!
One question how do you get those perspective lines do you just make them with the line tool or is it like some brush or something?
Looking forward to seeing more -Jamie

Omerta-Thnx mate .Well i simply take the line tool, imagine a focal point r two and do the lines based on them.It opens the painting space a lot, at least in prework stage

What a lovely update! I really like the design of that robot (or whatever it is ) Nice work indeed! Some extreme highlights would really make it look more realistic in such lighting!
Oh and thanks for dropping regularly at my SB, appreciated!
