great stuff, i particularly liked your window brush concept. Would be awesome during the concept phase of an environment.

Wonderful stuff as always kostas!! I may have to make some brushes now! Those sketches with the window brushes are great (one of them reminds me of the Crystal Palace designed by Joseph Paxton).

Looking forward to the next update!!

Jeremy Swan-Thank you mate !!! Yep it helps alot. If you can make quickly, working thumbnails, then the rest is easy job. So it worths to research and develop whatever we can for the thumbnailing stage.
MacTire-Yo Conor, thanks very much!!! Wow i havent seen that, interesting one. Do brushes [whatever you need] of repeated elements that you want to depict.

hey mate, nice work on the lizard. I'll have to try the step with lowered opacity for details. Far too often I put too much of color and contrast in, and the image gets "stuck"

zou-Thanks very much mate !!! Glad it can help somehow
yphiel-heheh thank you very much !!!
Lakka-Yo mate, thanks very much!!! But you can use some times your color expression. Just later on, lower the saturation , if the color values are correct, the result will be more realistic.
Ricardo Robles-Ricardo muchas gracias!!!I will try to become better cause i will start searching for full time
Jeremy Swan-Thanks very much mate !!! Will probably post more things like that hehehe

Ok guys i am abscent but working everyday. Although i already started "investigating" companies in the UK to work full time. I wanna work full time with a team to get that experience and grow more as an artist. However, i am watching my work and i feel like its not appropriate yet. Its not about the finish level, i can take that to where i please, but what keeps running through my head is the speed. So if anyone can tell me how much time they give a concept artist in a working day to do some stuff. From the freelance aspect i already have experience, but i want to know whats " a concept artist's day at work", that will get some fog away from my horizon. If anyone can give me info on that, i am really greatfull.

I am also working on 3d lately. It keep running around my head that those great 3d guys out there, should be able to do everything, and also i am thinking about production art in comparison to concept art. The truth is i am in love with concept art so i dont like that much the technical stuff of production art, but i understand that its an important and major part of the industry. Dunno, i may start doing some 3d environment modeling. Although it will need time to become good at it.

Here some things. Thanks very much for supporting !!!!lets all keep up

    Hi King

hope you're going well and good luck with your investigations. For the time thing, i know from tutorials videos that a rendred figure could take 6hour to a pro. Character designer for cartoon and animation should have like 4 or 6 propositions to art director at the end of the day. I remember that a fully rendered scene (a battle scene with figures and background) could take 3 working days to a pro.

i have alos the same thaughts about production art and concept art though i'm not looking for job. but i guess it's the professional world.

your works rocks as usual (i like the caroony smiling character ,with glasses)

as a critic your found them yourself xD

    good luck

    Awesome COW WIP Mate! ! ! !

    In this one
    http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1350061549

it wasn't too bad, but the fail wasn't so much the drawing of the foot... but the weight not being supported by that leg. You probably realized this though :p

Not sure if 'faster is better', but 'better is better' for sure!

    Keep up!!!

NickyBeats-hahaah thank you very much mate !!! thnx for encouraging
zou-Awww thanks very very much mate !!! I am working and doing studies on the side as much as possible. You are doing great with your work!!!
    dimi-Euxaristw polu man !!!
    kevin_-THankieeees !!!
p sage-Heheh you are totally right mate. I start filling in the puzzle and soon i will be able to produce better and faster .
Kungfoowiz-hehe thankiees very much Edward !!!! Lets both keep up, you are improving a lot!!!
Rotor-Thanks very much man , thats encouraging. I will start sending portfolio as soon as i collect some pieces that i like to present

Ok here i am again. I want to become better, both for my artistic goals and to deliver better works to my clients. I study like crazy these days , i research, taking notes etc. I want to find balance in speed and design. I want everything to go nice and smooth, so that i can spend the most of the time thinking a lot of ideas. So i am boosted up right now , i am going to enter the hardcore training mode i think . I would like to make some colossal update as the old times, but not sure, i should scan rough sketches and everything i do through the days and edit them.

Ok well sorry for writing notes in the pictures in that way, but as it comes to me at the certain moment , i love to just put it down immediately.I will write it here + some more i added on my notepad notes.

"Since you are no photographer (and you dont have existing
material to compose from), you have to begin by
sketching/imagining a mental image, and "photoshoot" it
after that, [frame it after that].
In every random view[for example even if i look at the ceiling now...i could make a nice composition of the crack in the texture there...wtf?what is that crack?!] we can compose. Even a dust standing in the golden point.

Pre-fixed frame [horizontal, vertical, or square, or even
circle] limits mental image posibilities. I will work in
minds eye range first and then will close in if needed.

By putting a frame you close up anyway, try taking a piece
of paper with a renctangular cut out piece and see
something through it with one eye. Here is your compo . "

The others should be visible i think

Ok enough with my bad english , now i will post somethings and will keep up!!! LETS ALL KEEP UP!!!!!
Really thankieeees for the support mates!!!

[and sorry for the rough works, but its a sketchbook anyway ]

LOL! What an epic upon epic update!

From that finished piece of the knight (you know is a very good one) to the tutorials with hand drawn smiley faces... I love it all

Good thoughts about framing/composition... this is something I picked up at art school, but still has to sink in sometimes. Don't start with a rectangle; start with your idea first, and then put a frame around it And you came upon the idea by hard work.

It still always seems like magic to me when people can work quickly with thumbnails and make something good out of them like you do.

Gotta give a shout out to your artist-ant and tiger pieces too... they were great.

    KEEP UP MATE!!

Love the tiger image, escpecially the eerie background

The front characters' colorscheme/balance/something makes it seem a bit different from the rest of the image though. Feels like it needs some lighter, maybe less saturated light?

    Alas, still love the piece!

Firstly, thank you for such an insightful post =) Got a question, hope you don't mind =) Do you find you work more out of your middle values, or more from darks? I ask because I'm curious about how you achieve good contrast and when you do that if you worked more from darker values first? Thx's =)
Love your work man =) I want to eat it =)
