Hi all, these are my attempts at this todays DSG

this was my first attempt and after about 40mins I stopped. I did not like where it was going, so I started a second one.

I definitely like this one better, i like my work when I start from black and white.

I just had to try this one. This is the fetal form of the Personal Flight Unit. A creature/device produced to supply short distance, fuel free transport.

Oof, such a turnout on this one.

Naastika Hmm... rather smudgy, in an unnatural Photoshoppy way (sorry adobe )
The direction of the strokes and the choice of blending mode (dodge color maybe) also adds to the "digitalness" of things
Could use some more contrast, make the limbs and head pop out.

    Titus James Yup, four hands.

Err... this makes me think of the "bat sign" more than anything.
Making things purposefully flat and simple is an art of it's own, but going on what you wrote, that's not that you are trying to do.

Maybe the problem is that you went to the details too soon - the cables, the little holes. the background smudges.

c4l3b An improvment? Over what? In what way? it's certainly better than my first DSGs (499) but I think I've done better.

    Enough about me.
The control panels didn't work in the first one, but maybe it would have looked better rendering them, rather than cutting them out.
    The guy is definitely better.
I don't like the crop on the left, it's constricting and unnatural cutting the head in half.

scho81 Loving the first (your second) kind of like the shark tunnels found in large aquariums, but much cooler and creepier with the biological junk, the colors and the looming shadow (not sure it's human, which adds to the cool factor)

Compared to that, your speed paint is mediocre, but it has some merits of it's own.
Again, interesting color choices, the green bg gives a good sense of depth and contrasts nicely with the orange tanks, and I feel there's something under the surface.
The lights kind of kill it - the atmospheric haze is too much, and I think it would have been interesting to push the contrast.
