    Warhammer 40k Space Marine

This is the first digital color piece I have done. I really like how it turned out. I did it on a tablet with Photoshop. 15 hours.

the hand holding the gun is really concerning me, its really small and the arm is way to short.

Nice for a first painting mate.
I agree with the above comment that his arm and hand position is a little out of proportion, and in my opinion he is a little too clean for a space marine.

I hope you dont mind, i took your image and had a 5 minute play with it adjusting the arm a little and overlaying a texture...

    Keep up the good work

And I think a little lighting on the eyes would go a long way to making him look even cooler. Like a reflection or a slight glow. Love the space marines. For a interesting idea, when your done, try turing him into a chaos marine for some fun.

hey, I like this piece, very good job fo a first digital colour piece, you will clearly get really good later on. I do agree with akitool's version, but for me those textures are a bit too strong, id tone them down a bit personally.

However u really should add a reflection on the eyes, and you forgot the metal lines in his mouth grill. Akitool's version has those.

sorry akitool, im not trying to be harsh or anything, but what u did didt really make it any better, the textures are to strong and the arm needs to be A LOT bigger n longer then that.

Hes to small for a space marine. Regardless of their actual body, their armour and the bulkiness of it makes them huge. The bolters in a weird perspective. One arms shorter than the other and needs to be alot thicker, the chest peice is to small, its alot more round and robust. The Shoulder pads are not rounded enough. The helmet looks good though.

Im a huge Space Marine fanboy and I dont like it when people dont get it right

I think that overlay kind of flattened the painting out and actually didn't make it look any better.
