thanks. I need to study value and color. too bad this term's focus seems to be on line and design basics etc. I'll try to find the time to go to a painting workshop between classes. i want to get better.

a little bit of saturday frustration. and i do stress. a little bit of it all.

Wow those figures are looking cool! How long were the poses? Great sense of balance and weight! Just pay a little more attention to some of your proportions, although I realize these are gestures and you were taking liberty in adding a little rhythm to the figures.

The sketchbook pages... are just spectacular. I'm serious, you could sell your sketchbooks as works of art, they're so beautiful and creative. The lines of text, crowded drawings and layout of all the pages makes every spread so appealing.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

one of my big fears is to graduate from this school as just another cookie cutter designer.
making the extra effort to "come original" this term, as 311 so concisely put it.
I'm trying to do that and make sure my figures don't get too stiff and lifeless.
anywho. some pages from my head drawing class, a couple gestures from week one, and a ..rey bustos pelvis from my monday class. :V
[sorry for the picture quality downgrade. had to give morgan's D80 back. x: so phonecam today.]

oh and thanks for the support, guys. xD
kind of snuck up on me while i was posting.
I'll be sure to pay closer attention to my proportions. there's exaggerating, and there's going overboard, and i gotta make sure i don't do the latter. D:

Love your sketches ! Those figures look great, you keep at those and I don't think you're gonna have to worry much about being cookie cutter. Which school are you going to? Art center (just running with the Pasadena thing)?

I've really enjoyed looking through here; your work has an artsyness to it that a lot of the sbs around seem to here lack. You can tell you're having fun, and it gives your work a lot of appeal. Also, gr8 figure drawings. 5*s

    Those gestures are hawt.

    Just saying .

You're probably one of the last people I'd think of when it comes to being cookie-cutter. Don't worry about that at all.

    small ridiculous gesture post.
my drawing/compositiong teacher's way of teaching's really really stiff. he didn't even cover gesture. just lifeless robot layins. so every week after this class i'm going to the workshop for a few hours to go crazy with gestures and swoopy awesomeness[okay. not awesomeness. not yet.]

i'll post with more later. gotta homework the fuck out of analytical fig tonight.

Sidharth Chaturvedi: you're right. i'm going to art center. D:
    jcpahl, cdejong, OmertA: thanks!
rossipoo: i've only seen one short guy and he looked really scrappy. D:
yeah. there are a lot of white girls here, but none of them are really cute. haha

Lovin' your updates, your work has been getting better and better since I first looked in here. Great work on the life drawings and gestures, still a bit stiff, but you're loosening up a lot!

Keep up the good work, and hey, you're not in Pasadena TX, are you?
