Pupil-less portraits for the win One of my habits, too. Sorry to hear about the grounding. I think the lips are pretty good considering you pointed them out. Maybe just off-angle a little on the right-most end.

    Cheers.

damnit bapsi you make me feel inadequate. Nobody in my art classes for the last several years are really good so i have this illusion that im pretty good (art is the one thing i can be kinda cocky about ). all your stuff kicks my ass off my podium and back where i belong. I wish i had the motivation to draw as often as you do.

But forreal the inks and that dragon thingy with chains those are really good. Do you have any of the stuff you sent in for your AP portfolio? I'd really enjoy looking at your other stuff, especially if it recieved a 5.

So keep on drawing, because i think your pretty good.

Your sketchbook is beautiful! I'm the one who should be jealous. That turtle makes me really happy

Wow I wish I was that caffeinated after one can of coke.

Hey man, for your age you are very good.
Try to stop downing your artwork,
If you think positive you will have positive results.

You asked me on my page how do I make my figures look as if they exist in
3d space. the answer to that is building solid forms first, then adding
anatomy on top. This is the missing link in most figure drawing classes.

Think of it like in a 3d program you map a texture to a 3d shape.
A box has 6 sides, front ,back, top, bottom, left, right,
Lets pretend that we are drawing a torso. on the front of the box you have the
Front of the torso, on the sides you have the side anatomy, on the top you have the space
where all of the neck anatomy would be,and the bottom you have nothing.
if you where to put each side together you will have a complete torso, and you would
be able to draw it in any angle that you could draw a box.

    Here are some examples.

A paint over of your stuff is also included.
You are very close, the answer is and always 3d space.

    OH GOD THANK YOU HUMAN NATURE I LOVE YOU A;SDLKFJA;LK JD;LAK EJHBFKDJHU;LKAJSDF ;___;

Christianweeks: some of my ap crap's on my DA gallery :]

anywho. practiced the 3d thing. a friend suggested that i take my better sketches that i've scanned and add some color. That'll help me get over my fear of painting. also some arms. aa;sdkjlkj
    yeah. also tried putting more time into my pencil sketches, rather than hacking and scraping at my paper. they actually look like i know how to draw. ;__;
god human nature's approach makes me feel like i can draw a figure now! xD
now it's about nailing it and understanding the little details of the human figure.
    ahh so excited.

Oh man Whatever "Clicked", "clicked" goooood! Why dont you pass some of that "Clicked" and let us take a whiff of that magical "clicked"

Enough of me being a Dumb ass, I like the design. What was going on in your head while you were drawing? Did you start with a silhouette like last time and your way up towards the details? Are ya planning to work on it some more, Maybe color the entire piece?

On a side note wanna have a Oc session today?

    Thumbs up

Seems like you have a good grasp on arms. I like arms
I like the most recent piece you posted. Very dark, and interesting. Seems a lot of your stuff is anime-like. That is just my opinion though. I especially like the figure to the right of the image containing the cell phone. Very nice figure there. Some of your faces come across as a bit flat. Like the one next to the figure I just mentioned.
    Anyhow, very nice work!

Woah those sketches are crazy. You got a cool gritty style and I like how you handle your lines and colors. Lot's of neat work!

In terms of painting it's all about the values man. You start getting that down and you will rock even more. Good work!

thanks, threecharles, trashy and ANGRY FILIPINO. I'll try to work on making my faces less flat. maybe it's the real lack of character in them. they all look pretty much the same. a bad trait of a former annie-may fag like me. x_x
    anyways. grounded last night.
so went on an angry sketch 'page. here are the highlights of the rampage. the rest was just angry scribblings and HATE HATE HATE. D:

You're well on your way to getting great!! Keep up with doing this much work frequently and people are right, imagine what it'll be like in 2 years? Even a quick burst of inspiration and a new realization or two will give you physical, undeniable proof of improvement in 2 week. Just gotta keep drawing! The more you do, the more methods you'll find to improve!

Only the heart intrinsically noble can succeed...
