Growing up to 6 feet long, Viren Viren [or simply Viren] is a burrowing worm living in the underground caves of the shrub dotted desert where Taca's clan lives. They usually remain under the mud and sand to burrow and shield themselves from the heat and light. The Viren are passive creatures, but have been known to attack viciously if provoked. They've also been rumored to be the cause of spontaneous sinkholes occuring in the area.
Their sharp burrowing claws can sometimes be iridescent, with a quality like that of an abalone shell. The people in the area are fond of its brilliance and fashion what they find into jewelry or weaponry and armor
    .

So many retarded setbacks and add ons and last minute "hey i should have done that's.
I hate this picture forever and ever the end.

hey that viren painting looks really good! the segments and legs look really good.. however where the water meets the land it looks a little iffy. anyway the faces look good in your last post, what was that done on? the marks at the bottom look like photoshop.. but it also looks like ink and watercolor on paper

Cool stuff, keep up all the hard work. I'm digging that lamp light study a lot, the simplicity is cool.

As always, your paintings are astounding. I would say to spend a little more time with pencil love every few posts though

    thanks for the love everybody

Mat Kaminski: I've been meaning to sit the hell down
and just take some time with drawing, though I've recently
gotten a huge crush on painting.
I promise something drawn traditionally in my next post. D:

    er yeah. quick post.
painted a friend while she played some old school half life.
too bad she got bored of it really quickly and decided to stop
    posing unknowingly for me.

    The last one was sexy!
It seems a bit muddy (lack of distinctive hue family and temperature) under the jaw there, but it might just be my monitor. A touch of higher saturation (light bouncing off her boobs or something) in the shadow there would bring life to it.
On a second thought, I'm probably wrong.

i really need to stop getting my ego in the way and just show shit because that's now i learn/record progress. also i promised to daily for a while here so dammit i need to hold to it. D:
this is from business class--i was sniping this pair in front of me while bored.
it's from the same day as the previous so whatever mindset, it's the same.
I think my problem with these two is that i was trying to approach it the way i would with a subway sketch--JUST GET IT DOWN WHATEVER.
it's way too easy for me to be lazy with the painting. What i disliked the most about it and the previous [the one in this post more probably cos i caught myself in the actual act] is that i didn't spend much time looking at the subject, which i really really need to do to actually learn from life. it's the friggin point! D:<

i don't like these paintings at all because i feel i gained absolutely nothing from it. i spend a good couple of minutes that day making turds and taking up hard drive space.

i need to be more mindful with everything i do, or else i'll just be wasting everyone's time.

Great sketchbook. Though, I think in these digital studies you're using your imagination a lot. Look closely for values, and try to define the planes with appropriate values. Also, take your time.

    Keep updating.
