I like the figures bapsi! And I enjoy the gritty look of the second one. The foldout pages are great.

Heye Ryan linked me to this SB. Damn you're awesome haha.
I really love how raw you are in your sketchbooks and how awesome it looks. Awesome lines. They've got great texture to them. It's really inspiring. Great to see you doing a lot of experimental stuff as well. Just really love it.
Cool apples as well. COlours look spot on though you could show a lot more texture. Apples actually've got a lot off cool stripes and shit and other cool stuff.

Anyway your work is lovely. You don't have msn right? We're pretty much of the same age group would be cool te meet O.o

Apple goes FUUUU is awesome. Try using some texture brush to breakup the surface so you have a fresh look to it.

Hey, thanks for the kind words in my sketchbook!! You are quite talented yourself! I like that you're experimenting so much, it's something I should do more often ... And you're attending the Pasadena Art Center?? Haha that's funny ... My bro went to Pasadena for an exchange last year and he totally loved it. He went to some kind of fair hosted by the Art Center and bought a poster^^

    crap update.
i gave up on painting my crapple, though i learned a lot from it. I have to focus on the parts of the form in shadow, and the colors there.
    euuugh.
Oh, and some spreads from my tiny pentalic sketchbook. Went to the mall with numlaut and did some much needed people drawing.

Sick apple, sick sketches, and nice progression! Personally, looking back at my old works and seeing how much I've improved is a good way for me to get out of a mental drawing slump XD You're only gonna get better from here, keep it up

Wooo great bapsi, mall drawing makes me think that I better go sketch some dudes at the cafe tomorrow! Hehe I can't update my own sb today since I did a bunch of imagination work for the most part, and now that it's night the photo quality is crap and not worth showing. So I'll update early tomorrow for all of today's stuff . Keep going... and remember... Wednesday

hey babs. love those ppl. great gestures and the faces are almost karikatured. almost. which is perfect.
also really like the year-by-year progress. and wow. you're only 19 huh? haha. I'd like to do something like that sometime. only lets see.. my oldest worthwhile work is from when I was 11. I might miss a few years after that. but I'm 33 now. heh. that might be a bit of a long and tedious development.

    >>SKETCHBOOK. you'll visit me. I'll visit you, we'll have a tea party. with arts and shit. it'll be dreamy. stop by.

cdejong thanks. I should focus on hands now, though. they're kinda flimsy.
    ashess thanks. 18, actually.

here's a turdy velasquez copy. my focus was on his skintones and
how he mixed his colors to create them. Tried to ignore little nuances
in detail and focus on just that.

the progress picture is a good idea, and very interesting - congrats to the obvious progress, and heh - I wish I had started when I was 13 instead of 24 XD

Anyway like the pieces you have produced, keep it up.

Bapsi fuuuuuu you kicked my ass. I suck at handling oils and you are just like awawawawa and nail that sheeyit down. That said, maybe be a little more careful in separating the light from the shade on the face? I dunno it looks good to me, but in the original the light and shadow is separated pretty clearly and you used a little more soft modeling. That's a crapy crit though, tbh I dunno what to say. It looks good to me. Keep rocking! Gotta set up a new assignment soon

Hard to crit though since I'm not sure if it meant to be quick study. Other than that looking forward to a more rendered work.
