    thanks
yeah i really need to fix my shit
i have a feeling the only thing that's gonna get me rejected from art center at this point are my grades.
    i admit it.
i've horrible grades. and i've waited this long to take my SAT. i'm almost positive it's gonna be a low score, and i won't have time to take it again.
    i'm such a fuck up.

    a wip in acrylic.
working on the other half of the face as we speak.

    so
thanks to my PASSIONATE KILL THE PAPER style of drawing, the spot between my finger and thumb hurt like hell everytime i grip a pencil. or stylus. or big of charcoal[not for long with charcoal, it sort of....crumbles..]
i have to draw with a lighter grip now, since i REALLY WANT THIS PAIN TO GO AWAY.
i guess i have the opportunity to learn to go darker in value without leaving canyons in the paper i'm working in. yaaay.

i left some figure drawings and gestures in my class two weeks ago. found them recently, so i'mma post now.
    also.
some life sketches etc i've done today.
    nothing exciting.

    MORGAN VISITED TODAY YAAAAAY
also i got my little 9by6 back!
i love the sketchbook to death. way more creative stuff in there than my current. even if it's 2 months behind my current in the skills department. O:

everyone say hello to my dog.

The pain that your feeling in your hand is simply your body saying " hey loosen up ok..ok?!" in all seriousness though just keep your hand relaxed and only start to grip that pencil tight when your rendering and adding your darkest values ok.

    110108

    figure drawing class today.

    we focused on the head.
our model was a little old man with this HUGE BELLY
it seriously confused me in terms of proportion
    also. with the face.
i've drawn pretty youthful faces, and muscular, slim bodies basically, all my life.
    so
this guy reminded me that PEOPLE DON'T LOOK LIKE THAT.
    potbellies and jowls ftw.
    gotta have some variety.

the brown one is my first time with conte!
    it's.....new.

    the way i draw?
    howarth: energetic!
    justine: passionate!
    morgan: ...sporatic.

    i gotta clean up.

Looks good (but the top left is a little disturbing) . Is the black stuff on the right supposed to be scribbles or grafitti?

Hiya, bapsi! Rarely type anything on this forum nowadays, part from my own sketchbook, but I don't really use that much either ^^

    Soo... Feel honoured!

Anyways, just wanted to encourage you! Wow, really got to get my ass moving if I want to keep up eh!

And I also wanted to point out that.. Even though I'm the guy, the boobs that you draw are bigger than the ones that I draw Should be the other way around

    Keep it up!
    I'll be chasing you!

    Abee

Bah, that sucks for being grounded. But you really have no idea??

The gestures are well done, I'm glad you're having a great time at your school and learn a lot in stages and not all at once. Say, when can we expect new finished illustrations of yours? I always liked your black and white illustrations, I'm woundering how they will look now you're practiced so much.

wow so much work! seems you have been busy try to give a bit more love ( time ) to your drawings, so you can clean it a little bit and render. would be nice to see something a bit more closer to finished as well. keep up the good work

your loosening up your hand good job. Since you have no problem filling up a page with figures hows about trying to create some formal narration with these figures. I think it would stress your approach to compostional balance, and storytelling.

    111008

today was a frustrating day at drawing and comp
but i did learn a lesson.
these are all approx. 20 minutes.
the first, without any measuring or proportion check.
    the second, with.

    UH I THINK I'LL MEASURE MORE, Y/Y?

oh, and the third. just had to play with these greyscale copic markers my beloved asian gave me. ~___~

    um.
    you're welcome, robert? O_o

    wip again.
this time a little farther along.
already a few regrets with this thing probably don't be proud enough to put in any college portfolio, but i still really want to see it finished.

    very early ink washing.

This is what I want you to do first leave this as it is dont over work it anymore because its at a good stage. Ask your teacher for some white conte the next time your in class. When you find some quiet time where your relaxed and not in a rush use that white conte to draw in very light and soft subtle high lights in just a few strands of the hair.. just a few not the whole thing ok. Then take a soft ebony pencil and work back into some of the lines of the face by just giving the eyes and face a little more structure as with line wieght.
