Wow that's just shocking from the first page to now, you've come such a long way. I love your line work a ton. your studies of people are so free, they're just awesome. the worm things are great to. something looks off about the rhino's head, like it's too flat or something.

    CuriousJoe8: thanks about the rhino!
    Lakka: thank you

I don't like bumping my thread around like this but I just can't leave that rhino like that, haha. I have to pay more attention to perspective and form next time.

I find it much more interesting to work with shapes than with lines. Something to work on!

I need to do more studies to better understand how colours behave under different lights... and value organization too.. studies studies. And surfacing too. Haha it seems that the more I learn the more there is to learn. The mountain gets bigger and bigger.

hi, nice studies here. about the rhino, you did it pretty well. only thing that troubles me is his back legs. they are too tall compared to the front ones. at least I think so...
Overall very good sketchbook. Keep it up!

Ivan Turcin: yeah when I was drawing it I noticed that and I thought that it would be cool to have higher rears (like a car lol). Dunno if that's a good idea now >_<

    OILS!! Studies done from photographs.

This girl portrait one was a failure I really had no command over colours here, so I thought I would leave it aside and finish it later, when I'll get more skillz haha.

Following the previous failure, I decided to go back to a controlled monochrome-ish palette (raw umber, ivory black, titanium white). I was able to concentrate more on actually controlling the paint. There are still some issues here, like drawing and value that I have to improve. Mental-noted. Also I tried improving my brushwork here. Super fun stuff (when it works).

This one was interesting. I think I learned something about the surfacing of chrome/silver/polished aluminum. It's just like a mirror with slightly higher contrast.

I see progression in every page, you're on the right way. Little more from imagination helps immense, cause you know where your flaws are/lie.

    Damn it's July already!

I've had all four of my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago, I've been a little unproductive these days haha. Anyway, some older stuff from last week.

Nice work on the short pose figure drawings! I need to do more of that myself.

And good to see the Bargue drawings as well. Copying one of the more detailed Bargue plates can be a time consuming exercise, but it is a great way to train your eye for accuracy and proportion.

Yeah that last enviro painting is in the right direction, one thing i would want to see would be really concentrating on drawing more, surroundings and photograps (even better, life drawing) it would help you a ton

the studies in your last post are very nice, how much time are you putting into those? i love to see people doing studies in both digital and traditional. i think the crossover is really really helpful in developing skills and learning how to block in shapes. hell, the more the materials the better!

the improvement over the last couple years is amazing. your understanding of light and shadow shapes has evolved nicely, your switch to shapes instead of lines did ya well also!

keep it up, i'll be following this one
