    "It is tiiime!" -Governor SCHWARZENEGGER

Conan O'Brien referred to him as "the gift that'll just keep on giving."

    "It is tiiime!" -Governor SCHWARZENEGGER

I think he sounds pretty competent. I hope things work out well.

    What are your thoughts?

but hey, the dude managed to succeed in this challenge, despite the usual bashing that always come up at the right time for the show.

    good luck to him.

That still doesn't excuse the fact that he has no political experience, and good intentions don't go too far when governing a state.

    well, my opinion is:

the actual politics is made by someone else. if he picked the guys standing behind him with a bit of care, politics might actually work well and people who elect schwarzenegger may also listen to what hes gonna say.

so if he tells the citizens to do more sport and stuff like that, and somebody actually listens to him, he accomplished something.

    could be worse, imho.

re political experience: i thought arnold always was a little bit into politics.

Give it 2 years and someone will put forth a petition to allow him to be the first Non-American born person to run for President.

And from one of the other threads ... I think the Time Traveller from 2036 said this was one of the signs of the upcoming Apocalypse!
To be nobody-but-yourself -- in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.

personally as a great fan of arnie, im kinda happy to see him get more screentime. but on a more political note im a bit unsure whether or not this will go anywhere. what he had to say sounded relatively reasonable though, so lets hope for the best

    Re: hasta la vista

You know...when I was a kid I drank quite a bit and I also screwed quite a few girls. I remember getting into a fight when I was about 15 with this guy because I called him a no-good (my family was quite the racist bunch).

Now I am 27 with 2 kids (1 more on the way), a great wife, a great life really. I am not the same person I was as a teenager. I even was able to escape the racist BS that was spoonfed to me since birth.

Its called growing up. Everyone should do it. Arnold sounds like he has...we shall see. You cant always judge a person by their past.

As a citizen of California who voted against Mr. Schwarzzenager, I honestly hope he proves me wrong. Seriously. Politically moderate, I have a very strange view on things when compared to many of my fellow Californians.

I disagree with his stances on a good many things, but I suspect that if he's at least half as smart as people like to say he is, he will realize that while he may hold personal stances on many current issues, the people of this state won't stand for too many decisions going against their grain for long. I do wish that he'd attended more debates, and put his policies and "game-plans", as it were, out in the open. His secrecy on such things is disconcerting to me, to say the least.

As to him "growing up," well, yes it is possible. Here's hoping he proves me wrong.

I always get kicked out my socks when I see how the people in America celebrate their politicans as if they were a messiah

You know, as a german I get scared by those things easily. A politican couldn't be celebrated in such ways here nowadays.

A german newspaper formulated it like this:
"Ich kann das; vertraut mir; Details spaeter."
    - "I can do it; trust me; details later."

It doesn't affect me, but if I lived in cali, I'd have voted for him. Looks like a good guy with some decent policies. Not to mention he's a robot man! A robot./sarcasm

Thanks fo rthe link, Android. I voted against him. He's a self-confessed serial sexual predator, and you can't erase that by saying, "I'm sorry.". Do the crime, do the time... unless you're a rich, white American! Dark days ahead for California.

arnold has always been an incredibly self absorbed egocentric man. the mistakes he made were not as a teenager but as and adult. further more he still makes those mistakes.

he is a popular Hollywood star that can't act but has great charisma. being an action movie star has nothing to do with who he is a man and and his abilities as a governor. i find it frightening that people are excited that he played a robot so "hey he will be a great politician". let me correct that, he will be a great politician but i do not think he will do great things for the people.

there are many things about this man that make it even hard to see his movies. i can't separate the actor from his actions. so i most certainly can not forgive him his transgressions and vote for him because he is "cool".

let me restate, his mistakes were not made as a teenager but as an adult. do not blindfold yourself with idol worship.

for a bit of background on what foster is say, go here this has an article in which arnold was interviewed during the late 70's... i think 1979 he was like 28 or 29. some of his sexual hijinks are talked about as well as some mention of drug use. he's a puppet... what android says is true.
    pray for us all

Who isn't a puppet. Can you honestly say that many politians were completely self reliant and had no one behind them ( most likely their party) telling them exactly what to do, and when. However, since this happend so much, I really don't share Android's anarchist views.
To summarize the summary of the summary : people are the problem.
