    personal fav this final matchup.

nicolas (what can I say dude? you the man) M.C.Barrett, (really nice).. DavePalumbo (dave, I think you nailed the subject better than anyone, well done man. It was a hard subject!), Cody (coolest Ive seen from u man). robogabo (oh yeah! mechas in full render, well done) Kirtz (scary and amazing, tough call for the judges here), Idiot Apathy (damn! thats strong dude), thom, verry cool and well done... who else, shelly of cause, Rudeone, and really too many good ones to mention right now...

thanks again to cody 4 doing this.

    NEVER!!!
its a shame only one of us can go forward. i would like to see if given a subject as broad as the last one if we could come up with simular concepts yet again. maybe not. interesting idea tho.

i agree. i had some ideas about the amout of people who take the phase at face value.

    Anyway good show.

Its like i have come home, only i hate being at home so by association i hate you.

    woah.

huge props to everyone, and i really gotta say, more often than not,i found myself reading the name, seeing the piece, and thinking "that's him? what a tremendous progress!". really, many people have gotten so much better since last time,it's mind boggling.
also, kinda surprised by the amount of mermaids, and similar compositional "tricks" used (e.g. landscape piece with small figures in foreground, big thing in background; smaller figure in front, full frontal on huge figure in back).

all in all,i wouldn't be able to recall any true favourites. as soon as i think of one, another comes to mind that's equally mind-blowing.
although i gotta give props to 0kelvin for being the one that sticks most, and easiest so far (i had fits of laughter everytime i discovered something new).
    BIG PROPS TO EVERYONE!

Yeah, I guess I painted something inappropriate. But I hope I'm not the only creepy guy around, right?

Holy shite. Carnifex, I'm with you on that. I see a lot of people who really stepped up their game and pushed themselves. Way too many for me to give individual props to now. Maybe when things are loading better anyway.

Dave Palumbo-Nice job, and nifty and polished and clever all at once.

Shelly Wan-geez, I thought you were gonna be too busy for this, yet you still rock something out. excellent work.

Kirtz-I'm so glad you came out for this one. You're a great artist and it's time other people got a chance to see it, too. Also, your painting's full of a million neat weird things. Well done!

Hehe yeah, I guess I'm up on the creepy list. Good thing we weren't in the same round, not just for the subject matter crossover but also your fetuses would rape mine Great stuff.

dave----you nailed it sir, thats totally the idea i wish i had had, and should have, but my brain didn't quite get me there. which is good, because you executed it much better than I would have been able to. It was awesome because I was talking with one of my friends about just having boobs in a picture for the sake of boobs, and then BAM, your piece pops up...i was like SEE?! THATS HOW YOU DO IT!!

Here are a few comments for the pieces that stood out for me in this thread. I'd have loved to be able to comment on all of them but alas, there are only so many hours in a day.

nicolas - I always love your entries.
    M.C. Barrett - Fantastic environment!
DavePalumbo - Dude! I love it! One of my favourites of the round. Steph described it to me in Seattle, but it turned out even better than I was expecting!
    ENBE - Great comic style.
    prostate sunrise - Beautiful!
    wassermelone - Very nice.
kirtz - I really like this one. I love the way it tells a story as you scroll down, and the design of the house is great.
Idiot Apathy - Great costume design and creepy creatures.
aspenboy - I don't know how this relates to Underneath It All, but it is awfully funny.
SprayNation - This is a really cool environment design.
Pan - Awesome. This is just a cool entry, all around.
thom - I love that creature's smile. Great design.
Shelly Wan - You never disappoint. Lovely.

I wanted to call out an artist or piece specifically, but in the end found them all calling to me; seeing the effort in these LMS threads made me in a moment love the internet without taint, for it fostered and brought together so much wonder. Others, Ladies, and Gents, you have my applause.

    Impress

In my mind there R many effective art concept. New format of representin` Death theme as minimum (as Charon Boatmaster from Greece mytholodgy & moneys with early Christian symbol on eyes), Elf-slave & happy dwarf family plus some else.
Respect also for great color feeling (pity I have none)

WOW. I'm not sure what to say, even in my native language - pretty serious amount of awesome art.

Well, I've tried to show the other side of x-mas. I must admit that it's pretty loose interpretation. But I'm glad you like it.

Congratulations to all participants, you've made huge amount of really great work. I'm scared of thinking about the final round and the quality of final pieces.

My art boner is 12 inches hard right now!
Anyway, I feel kind bad picking favorites, because everyone has done such a great job. So many different interpretations (and too many mermaid paintings! lol, j/k). A few did stick out in my mind though.
yadam: i'm not sure what is going on here, but I think it's a fun image .
Slash: Really eerie image. I love it!
Shamagim: I feel like that sometimes, lol. Cute rabbits .
    Nicolas: WOW, fucking awesome.
M.C. Barrett: Reminds me of Syd Mead painting. That's quite a compliment .
I'm just going to list the rest that caught my eye : Cicinimo, EAD, Dave Palumbo, ILikeJuice, Prostate Sunrise, Flaptraps, rustikof, Stephen, Robogabo, Lukoss, Kirtz, Idiot Apathy, Pan, Thom, and Shelly Wan .
Great job guys! I'm excited to see the art from the next few rounds .
