Hey El' nice start to a sketchbook. Good to see you using the pencil, i thinks it gets overlooked by a lot of artists nowadays. Be mindful of your shading direction tho, try to draw your strokes in the direction of the form when shading and don't be afraid to push harder in some places... keep it up ;-)

    my hand from reference photo

This is a 48 year-old lady hand, (protecting my husband...
First attempt to draw it is a failure and the blending is awful, but I am ready to try it again tomorrow, maybe.

    my left hand

sketch of my left hand from real life. I believe that an artist should study anatomy parts from real life and not generic hands, ears, limbs from drawing courses or the masters. An example is the difforent styles and interpretation of human figures of El Greco with elongated faces and limbs and Rubens with voluptuous forms.

Welcome to CA! First I'll say good start for a SB, your hand and other pencil drawings from the beginning are very good and expressive but I noticed your smudge shading, get rid of it! It makes your work harder just make it with the top of your pencil! Keep going, best wishes and good luck!

The rendering on these is nice, but they're not quite symmetrical - close but not quite. Look at the edges of the windmill vase. The left edge is bulbous, but the right one just goes straight down to the base. The olive oil canter is leaning to the left. These two objects should also have a mirror curve to their base. The small bowl has a lower lip on the near left side.

With a little extra work this could be a really great portfolio piece.
