    Uglydude's Sketchbooks

    Hello everyone

I have been reading this forum for a while now, and have been astounded by the amazing artwork, as well as the helpful/useful advices.

However, only now do I have the courage to start a sketchbook. I aim for a career in as a concept artist. I know I still need a lot of improvement, including digitial painting, environment, composition...and many other.

I'm looking forward to any advice you have, as well as some mentoring if you got time.

    Many thanks

I have been doing some sketches and felt that I'm pretty weak with portraits, so I thought I do some practises. Tips and criticism are welcome.

    Yay free nudity for kids!

I like the skin tone of the second nude study.

A few more quick sketches in the morning. Still need to work on drawing face, the face on the figures are really poor. Hope if anyone got sometime to mentor me on drawing face. Many thanks

Grafguy - Thank you for you comment, you are right the chest is too blurry, I used layer of the blurred image and masking it over the original, I guess I put too much blur on it, this is the original, without blur.

Still on a quest to improve my face drawing skill, I have seen many great artists on Conceptart.org, create characters with such great facial expression with little marks.

Quick thumbnails sketches of portraits. If anybody have any criticisms, tips or advices, I am most welcome.

Thank you for taking the time to look through my sketches

Also can anybody tell if it is possible to edit the 'title' of my thread, and if so how? Many thanks

Hi UGLYDUDE! I like your drawings a lot especially the way you draw them... some of them are looking almost realistic! I'm impressed by your faces and I have one advice for the last picture, you should add some flakes on that dragon and I think the dragons are a little bit glossy also the clifs behind! You should and more! Keep up the good work I wish you luck!

Thank you for your kind comments and help, I will try my best to keep this update.

clanlord - You are right, by me trying to put a glow on the dragon, he end up looking a bit glossy, I also did put scales/flakes on him but I think the opacity might be too low to see. I will have another go on it later on.

Again many thanks your taking your time to view and comments on my work, much appreciated
