Seeing as the whole undersea utopia theme is going on i think we should do more themed stuff like that like loads of different planet concepts that span across chow, cow, eow & Idw could eventually build up an entire universe.
The CA Universe, kinda has a ring to it don't you think?

    Good idea?
    I love that idea

I quite like the current "John Carter of Mars" topic - any chance we can get a Princess Dejah Thoris or Tars Tarkas follow up?

A naked woman wearing some jewelry is not a design.

I think this is a great idea. It would be really interesting to see everyone's ideas and to come up with some of your own.

It depends of the jewelry, and it depends of how you do it. We are talking of an alien woman using ornaments of an alien culture.
I think the idea is fantastic, we'll just need some research before doing it.

She's basically just a red human. Her character and personality, from what I got from wikipedia, is undeveloped, uninteresting, and cliche. The contest will turn into a boring anatomy showcase. "Alien" in this case will be nothing more than a few dots on her face, or elf ears, or other nondescript bumps on her face, basically a StarTrek alien. It'll turn into a rendering contest.

I agree with your point to an extent, but the object of ChOW is a personal interpretation. If you're redesigning a character you can take liberties with it. A lot of the John Carter's were 'as the book' but there was no restriction to do so if that was your prerogative. That being said, Princess Dejah is one of countless options! I think Allan Quatermain would be fun! We need more pith helmets round here!

    CHOW IDEA: Superfriends Redux

I'm really liking what I'm seeing on this this weeks topic. I was thinking that the Superfriends, being as lame as they are, would pose an interesting challenge.

The idea would be to reinvent the wonder twins, apache chief, samurai, black bolt, or marvin and his dog. Make them bad ass contemporary characters. We could even expand on this to include any of the other late 70's early 80's saturday morning cartoon super heroes (space ghost, thundarr the barbarian, bird man, etc.) It's only a matter of time before someone 'reimagines' these characters anyway. Everything old is new again

Anthony Fremont, the reality warping 3-year old mutant as featured in the Twilight Zone Episode "It's a Good Life", based off the short story of the same name, also remade in "Twilight Zone: The Movie", parodied in that one "Simpson's Treehouse of Horror" episode.

"Anthony Fremont is a three-year-old child with near-godlike powers: transform other people or objects into anything he wishes, think new things into being, teleport himself and others where he wishes, read the minds of people and animals and even revive the dead, though he only tried this once. He may not be wholly human in appearance—hints in the story mention his "odd shadow" and "bright, wet, purple gaze;" the obstetrician at his birth was said to have "screamed and dropped him and tried to kill him;" and the other children are told that Anthony is a "nice goblin" but they must never go near him."
