    mediocrity rules-big update

I decided to start a new Sketchbook because me old one was really messy and it basically only consisted of WIPS in everystep.
And i felt if i started over i could try to keep it "clean" this time.
I'm Not going to post as many digitals as i did before.
Now that i bought a few sketchbooks i'll be posting more pencil sketches.

    Hopefully everyday !

    About me:
I live in san diego , california.

My favorite artist right now is egon schiele

Thanks! I've been trying to be more simple during sketches.

spent about 7 hours on this.
    and it's still not done.

For a 15 year old, that's some great stuff.

I really like the pencils. On the digitals I'd advise you not to be scared of using strong colors in shadows for example. On skintones, just try out blues yellows reds, whatever, they might surprise you! Just attempt to keep the values right, and it is bound to look good

it's cool to see another young buck! I'm 16
nice portraits! I like on the silhouetted how you have the band name included in the hatches. I think the next step for your portrait work you be learning to understand the plains of the human head and being able to capture those plains with you hatches. hatching is a really easy way to identify the direction of any given shape as you can direct your lines to show the object's perspective.

    cheers

Lakka has some great advice up there. You pencil style is lovely, really quite 'mature', your painting needs to grow. Keep experimenting. Really like your stuff, and post as many photos as you like. I'll be back in this SB again.

Be careful with your proportions on the latest sketch. The shoulders should be the same width as the hips, and the thighs should larger and longer. The legs are also getting too small.

Keep drawing full bodies, and observe proportions on the people around you. It will help.

CRISSCROSS: she's wearing a vest/sweater so i thin thats why her shoulders are quite big because they have those shoulder pads in them.
    Anyways thanks!

    cropped out the hideous body.
the face is quite hideous also.
    but practice makes semi-perfect.

Andrew Loomis has some really good anatomy books, like figure drawing for all its worth and another one about faces and hands. I still can't draw hands but it isn't his fault I just haven't invested enough time into it. you can find and download his books if you look for them hard enough, they'll be in .pdf format. the face drawings are looking better, I like the way you hatched the hair on the 20th post is shows the volume and shape well. keep up the studies it'll pay off in the end!

Bridgeman is another artist that has a really good anatomy book. you can find a downloadable version of that too.

sorry, I was thinking about something. what'd you say again?
