Insane lemur and Shambok: Thanks, glad you like the stuff here.

Yor: yup, I'm becoming more and more careful with saturation, lesson one: greys matter.

    Visite et observation

    Hello SouMeng,

    Marwane.

Ok below are a photo study and an abstractish thingy that probably show how, strangely enough, I've been fascinated with both mattepainting and digital abstracts lately.

I also posted a new finished painting + steps in FF. =>http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=221452

Damn - you EoW and environments are stunning - been told I should join the EoW competitions but oh my ~

Might want to step up my game several notches to even compete - love several of your pieces - but the root marshland EoW last on the previous page is just glorious.

Thanks for posting these - highly inspirational.

Really nice to see the rough process in some of them as well

Dan Liimatta: Thanks, glad you like the marsh piece. EoW's tough, too tough for me anyway. With hindsight, I feel that piece was a turning point in my colour education though.

Theres something about the way your starting to handle brushes and how you use colour thats really exciting. Its got tonnes of potential, Very digital and textural but kind of feels like an old masters painting or something.

Keep the up the good work!

That last painting u made is beautiful. I love the way u rendered it, it feels so real.

Also on the first page u painted the evian water bottle, u got that spot on, the shape, the way the water is, great reflections and refractions of the water. Only thing which is a bit weird is the bottom of the bottle, seems to be little small and the perspective of it is a little off.

Great work though mate, keep it up!

PHATandy: Thanks, that's also how I feel about it.

Grey_Rift: Trying to keep track of meself too.

    Zolerit: Glad you do!

Mussy: I had much, much to learn 3 years ago. Mind you, I still do but ignored ignorance is bliss.

I like the experimental/analytical nature of your paintings. Did you use the smudge tool for the recent one?

    Cerealist,
Knowing your medium (brush settings> colour dynamics> brightness jitter at 50%.)
    +
Knowing your subject (drawing a couple of trees from reference before trying from your head)

    Here's a hi-res detail of the wip.
