    Tum tee tum.

    Greetings everyone.

I've decided to join this cool community of artists to experience art and improve my drawing skills. Hopefully, my stuff won't get drowned out by all the good stuff around here.

Critiques will be appreciated. Thank you for looking at my messy stuff.

WOW! I get a real sense of style and movement looking at these. There are really nicely done and you've got a really cool gesture/construction method going on here and an interesting cross hatching style.

I have to ask though, did you scan these or take a picture? Because some of the drawings seem slightly skewed, as if you'd taken a picture of them at an angle.

But despite that, I think these are fantastic. I wish I could fill up pages with amazing figure studies like you've done here. It all seems so effortless and yet full of life. I'm a big fan. Post more!

Wow, thanks for the kind words guys. They really made my day.

thek: Thanks a million for breaking my "dry spell of comments." I scanned all of my pictures. The skewiness (made up word?) is my fault. I think it is largely due to my tendency to draw in the same manner as I write (bad habit).

MachineKit: Thank you for the encouragement. I will continue to post more.

Cool catapult. And one can never do enough gesture sketches. Any chance of some more finished pieces? All these gestures should give you a strong chance at some finished stuff.

donalfal: Ah, you've reminded me that I need to finish more pieces. Thanks for looking into this sketchbook.

Toothbrush warrior concept. Not too happy with this one. Her nose looks a bit strange and the tooth paste strap looks too flat.

    Some female torsos.

Work in progress. I plan to actually finish this one.

    Thanks for looking.

WOW! Great! I really love the figure sketching, very nice understanding of anatomy!

Maybe you should practice the angle in which the left hand of the last female goes (I don't know how do you call that angle ), but it's WIP anyways so you were probably planning on fixing that.

Silvenon: Thanks for checking out this place. You're right, the left arm does look a bit funny. Messed up on the foreshortening.

Haven't been working on that particular WIP, but here are some recent stuff.

close up of sword girl from a while ago

    brief self crits:
faces: need a lot of work. must practice more more more
legs in general: need clearer knowledge of anatomy there. kind of hazy
definitely need to improve hatching/shading method: sloppy, not effective
    torso back: need clearer knowledge
hands: terrible in general; vague and unclear.

Lots of 5 star sketchbooks floating around, probably not a good time to post.

    Bah! I'll do it anyway.

looking good! those gesture drawing have so much life, i think it's the confident line quality.

i like your finished pieces a lot, too. i think that a little more variation in the line width would add some character. and keep working on those faces, i already see them looking better.

wow, lots of good figures, i would advice you to start taking more time on doing those, i mean, do cleaner lines, youll improve that way im sure, it will be good practice since you allready do nice figures.
Check out andrew loomis book called "succefsull drawing", he explains how to correctly add shadow and light to objects there, you can get it for free here www.fineart.sk
    Good luck!.
