    This doesnt make the internet obsolete. The Internet is a worldwide system of different networks. This is an upgrade of the core routing systems within that system. Using new technology in a more efficient way basicly. It doesnt remove the internet, just makes it faster.

    I dont think the concept of internet will ever dissapear. Even in the far future where you might have access to dataresources anywhere, anytime, by using chips in your head, the internet would still excist. As long as atleast two networks communicate with each other there will be internet.

    I can only laugh at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), but I suppose it's good for something if introduces faster internet.

    This technology needs to hurry up and get here.... holograms sound like fun!

    Though this won't help our pirating problems any.

    Yep, when I first misread this line it seemed completely out of place;

    "“red button” day - the switching-on of the Large Hardon Collider (LHC), the new particle accelerator built to probe the origin of the universe."

    In fact, I might trademark that so Coro doesn't take it first.

    This news feels only relevant to bootleggers and their "customers".

    I'm just laughfing at how they chose to measure how fast this thing is by how quick it can download movies...I mean, seriousley...

    I can't tell if that just makes it sound fake to me, or if they are calling me stuiped.

    When broadband was just launched they often used the download speed of movies and mp3's to sell it.

    Some actual speed numbers would have been nice though

    yea but a whole new venue will open up for us as artists when we can start to produce holograms. Sounds like a new plugin for maya might be required.
