Hi folks -
Call me an asshole, but I need to start this new thread to get my ass in gear, I believe. I finally got out of school after I don't know how many crappy nights of bullshiting around with disposable knowledge. Finally I can focus almost completely on art, which feels super dynamite.
This first one is a bit older, for a swedish game contest, which I barely got noticed participating in, haha. I used some reference for the torso.
This is a selfportrait from yesterday, from a slitly older photo of myself.
Here's a quick colorstudy from photo.
And some sketches.
Some weird girl and underneath me girlfriend making notes.
Just scribbling, some referenced.
Now I'll seriously try to post as much as possible as often as possible. Please poke me if I don't.
Oh and crits are always super wanted.

Cool start and nice stuff Like the colour sketch and the pencils. And must we really call U an asshole for starting a sketchbook? U promise to be one?
I really like the blocky style and rendering of your second piece
Kidult - hey man, thanks! haha, you can call me what ever you like, hopefully I'm not an asshole though. ,) Definitely wouln't promise that, hah
Candras - thanks man!
Some late nigt sketching.
Hey, btw, anyone remember what happend to Imglue? Damn he used to do such fine stuff.
thanks so much guys!
some sketching whilst talking -
and some digital whatever. First one's a really quick Rockwell study -
and these two? well.. I don't really know.
Oh snap, a new book, awesome.
hell yeah man, summer just around the bend for everyone, its going to be wicked intense, freakish amounts of work uploaded ON THE HOUR!
or at the very least weekly. Already an awesome start, its only up from here bro! more!
(but take the time to enjoy the sun)
my book o' doodles
Interested in some Team CHOW? i'm all for it :3
Nice work so far, your shading is nice and your anatomy/proportions look good.
Keep on trucking, this is cool. I like the sharpness and decisiveness of your strokes in both mediums. I like the guerilla drawings as well, more of those please.
Good start and some cool sketches. You suffer abit from the big head symdrome (like myself), so watch some of those proportions.
my sketches here... http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=92997
www.sevans.co.nz , visit them or a puppy dies!

Fragmentedchimp: hey man! haha, yes hopefully we'll all be active. And oh no my, I couldn't miss the sun. Thank you man, waiting for your updates!
Madfishmonger: hey, thanks .
Retronym: Thank you very much man!
SEVANS: yes you're very correct. I seem to not be able to work the proportions right for som unspoken reason, need to study more anatomy and draw more from life simply.
Ajvenema:hey man! Glad you stoped by, thank you for the encouregment and faith you have in me.
Will try to update tonight again. Supposedly something crude as usual.
cool stuff brah...
watch your line quality though, one line is usually enough, even if it isnt placed exactly where you want it!
men aaah im down för fika eller vad som helst om du vill sketcha lite nästa gång du är i stockolm! (du bor väl på åland?) min mail är firstname.lastname@example.org om du har msn!
arch - thanks man, appreciate the crit, and of course your right. I'll try to think about that.
yes! perfekt, jag addar dig såfort jag lyckas ta mig in på msnnet. Åland japp.
soo, to sketches from today, first one's my livingroom and the second one me trying to figure out some muscles. weywey
I got critted hard on this one too - when you do muscle/anatomy studies, it's important to really COMMIT to your strokes instead of sketching for them - that's what builds the muscle memory (no pun intended)
Lake: Valid point. I need to focus more.
irmo: hey man, glad you like
one last one -
If you really want to get your ass in gear, I'd start doing some serious personal projects. Aside from a couple posts, these are mostly just fun/silly doodles. There's nothing wrong with having fun. Drawing should be fun , but unfinished doodles are not going to build a portfolioCall me an asshole, but I need to start this new thread to get my ass in gear, I believe. I finally got out of school after I don't know how many crappy nights of bullshiting around with disposable knowledge. Finally I can focus almost completely on art, which feels super dynamite.
I know how you feel about school though. I almost quit college a few times. I came realllllly close to quitting college last year, actually.
You've got some chops dude, I'd like to see what you can do if you push yourself and really finish some things.
frank, howie, flaskan - thanks alot guys!!
Texahol - hey man, thanks for the reality check, like it. And your right I need to start building a portfolio if I'm going to get into art school basicaly. To my defence I suppose I'm glad I'm back on track just doodling or whatever, but that's not going to last. ,) Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your work big time!
Something I'm working on for school -
She looks a bit weird now, little crooked and colors somewhat wrong, but hey I'm glad I'm doing a painting.
something I did just now -
Oh, I see you are playing with pencil, that's good, but try to make something strong, you have a gift so don't waste your time keep posting
Anthriel and Roczniak - thanks so much!! I'll really try to push myself, I promise. In the mean time haha -
Thank you for swinging by my sketchbook! You have very nice studies here! Keep updating, I'm watching))
Thank you Nadia!
I believe this sketchysness actually took me way longer than any of you might think, but I must say I learnt alot. I referenced the horse cranium.
Pencil sketches soon.
