    Icon 2-D Design: TENSHI

    just wanted to post a WIP for my 2-D Design class. project is working with music and color and stuff like that. so i ganked one of the awesome intuos3 tablets (i NEED ONE. just like i NEED a new laptop) and whipped this up in my three hour class.

    now if i can only work fast like this on my commissions. ;A;

    i'm not entirely sure about the text at the bottom, tho that is the line i'm working with. i had a hell of a time finding a good font, and still i am displeased. i may nix it altogether.

    critiques are most appreciated!

    try handwriting the text out on your own to get it to look how ever way you want it to. Doesn't matter if it's messy, in fact messy text might help it.

    I agree with handwriting the phrase; the rest of the piece is already free and organic, and the text as is jumps out in its bold blockyness.

    find a more down to earth, sans serif font, not a stencil, yuck. No arial or helvetica either.

    just wanted to thank everyone for the help so far. I've adjusted the text and found a much nicer font, more loopy and handwrite-y. Tried writing it by hand. my handwriting is just so EPICALLY AWFUL, i just wanted to cry a little. so obviously that's not gonna fly.

    here's an updated.

    it's depressing how you lose a lot of subtle shading when you shrink it the fuck down. ;A;

    awright. kept the good text and darkened the wings up a bit so you could see them better. my teacher kept badgering me to include the dark blue lineart into the wings, which i did finally try, but promptly deleted the layer. her wings aren't supposed to be so blatantly a part of her. they're there, but like not there, y'know?
