    Illustrations and Recent Portrait Commission

    Hello CA,

A small offering to the finally finished page.

The illustration " JAX " offered a fun attempt at designing
a large robot. Around 10 days start to finish. Also added a wedding portrait commission. Oil on board 18"x 24"

Really like the illustration and enjoy your take on a sort of retro feel.
Not too keen on the portrait since it has not transcended the photograph ref in the way that your illustration has done so extremely well.

Great use of complimentary colors in both. Your highlights really pop, too.

Hey thanks guys. They were fun to do.
Chris: I'm on another portrait commission now so I'll keep that in mind. Some people prefer the formal portrait over something with more intense light and saturation. Gotta go with what they ask for.

are those guns being pointed at them? They're a bit amorphous. I didn't realize what they were until I looked at your color comp.
