the eyes are quite flat, and your lighting source isn't really defined. Remember that the eyes are orbs and the skin around them acts accordingly.
Lake:thanks for the crit. i try to made the main ligth from her rigth and a secondary more difuse from her left, but i guess that don't work very well.
i worked a bit more on the eyes and the general form on this update. still i have to look closer. thanks for the input.
some changes. i worked a bit more in the values and the eyes.
thanks for watching and c&c are welcome
You're focusing on the features too much, too soon. Remember, the overall shape of the head is effected by light and shadow, and how the smaller forms appear is dictated by their placement within that larger lighting pattern. You need to work on really conceptualizing the direction and quality of the light, and how it interacts with the forms and planes. This one isn't bad, now do 20/50/100 more.
The top lip looks too thick at the corners and the block of teeth don't help either so I suggest you refine that area. I also think her eyes are ever so slightly too high.
Elwell :thank you. you are rigth. i keep refining the features instead of the general forms. i think principaly due to my lack of confidence and knowldge on planes and how ligth effect the forms (i more use to draw only with lines, in a more "iconic" way with no real account for ligth and planes for my part).
thanks for the advice and the time, i will work more harder in the general part.
and i will do more faces(probably i will start with 20, a more near goal)
MaryCarey:thanks. yes the lips look thick in the corner, i wanted to make a different kind of lips, but i guess that doesn't work very well.
about the eyes, you mean in relation with the face or the nose? i don't know, i don't see the eyes to high in relation with the nose or the eyebrow, perhaps with the chin. maybe is just me,thou. thanks for the crit and the time.
probably i leave this face in this stage, and work in another one.
in any case when i have something i will put in here.
thanks everyone for your time and comments, much apreciated.
