more work done here... trying to get the anatomy of the face, with this expression right before I move along... and finding values in these tones before I take a crayon to this... any crits welcome.

    Hey Kelly. Sexy!
Maybe it's just me but right now the eyes seem too close to the nose and when I imagine the size of the eyeballs, they'd be really big like this. Also the left pupil looks somehow odd. Like it's either too oval in comparison to the other, or it's probably from the whole size of the eye that it just looks too far too the left.
    Hope that helps.

i dont think the eyeballs are to close. i measured them and it seems like the eyeballs are about one eyeball apart. The eyelashes make the eyes look longer then what they are, maybe thats why.

wow i wouldn't have thought that was a real person. I mean what you said was right, you did a good job drawing her. And the eyes are about the same in your picture so you did a great job on copying her ^_^

Ah, sorry, I see. And hot damn!
The inner corner of the left eye looked too close to the nose to me but I guess it's the eyeliner, haha. And that the inside is not as detailed as the other yet.
That's a really cool picture. (god, those eybrows!)

Hay Kelly cool stuff as always,
This last ones looking good, and I dont think there's anything wrong with the eyes, but you mite wont to take a look at the nose (looks uneven, as the right side is higher up)

    keep at it

    Hey Kelly.

Loving the Aisa D Wip. its coming along great.

So is the cave people pic. I'm finding the large amount of textures on it abit distracting at the moment though. Not quite enough depth or perhaps empty space to make the characters stand out enough.

i like your paintings but almost in every one, except the last one I think(because i can't say you did anything wrong because the ref looks the same) the facial features, especially the lips don't seem to be a part of the face.

Don't know why, might be me but seems to be the case, to me atleast

kovah, thanks and I am still working on this cave piece and totally agree with this.
maeshanne, cool and thank you for the compliment!!
Dark eagle, yes, I agree I am weak with the lips and will try, I think I may be starting to understand but still have a hard time getting these lips to look like they belong, thanks.

Cheers for dropping by my SB, I've been through most of your book and a couple of things stick out in your approach, you tend to muddy your colours by using grey/browns or black for shading. Black is fine for a graphic piece but it's hardly ever right for regular work. The second thing is that you draw hair in an individual kind of way, if you look at real hair it clumps together in a flowing way providing a silhouette. Personally I go for an over large brush set for the size to be pressure controlled, to give this clumpy look.

    hope that's helpful

Hey, you've got some sweet stuff going on in here. I think the graffiti girl with the skull jaw bandana turned out real nice n hot! The Betty Page style paintings are also pretty darn hot, especially the latest one. She's gorgeous, and you say she's a friend of yours. Man, I wish I had friends like her. Gonna look forward to seeing it finished.

young paddy, Thanks, sometimes people do use pure black -- it is fine sometimes, but in general on the tones I agree warmer tones are better and thanks a lot.
Christoffer, Thanks! I'm glad you like my work and the feeling is mutual!!!!!
Here's an insane series I did for a day 1/2 straight, my good friend J = multi post...
    #1= two hours
#2= two hours+ moving her entire face
    #3= three hours
#4= three hours smoothing and adding texture + small swirl background
this is for my friend J.

Nit bad for about four hours worth of frustration. I would say little highlights in the hair would be good. Some real stiff shadows in the face since there is such contrast in the flesh and shadows. I imagine your reference image might not have had the lighting you wanted from the way this is painted. Really u should enhance the image when you repaint it, otherwise you could just use a Photoshop filter. The image is the starting point the rest is your work..

    Oh, perhaps, eyebrows

    Ah. Kelly!
I recognized her instantly, so that's good.
I really think you captured a beautiful expression and her character (as far as I can tell ).
Her neck just seems a little unfinished, or to be exact on first look I didn't realize that that's hair beind it. maybe make the difference a bit more strong?
    Beautiful work.

    Hola chica

Awesome work on J's portrait, I instantly recognized her! She looks stunning there, you really managed to capture her The subtle hues in her skin are amazing! I'd give the hair a little extra love, perhaps, it needs some more refinement and highlights, but I'm being picky. This is some stunning work, I'd pay big money for such an excellent portrait

Also looove the pinup one! I honestly thought she was from your imagination, though, her looks are very...well, not cartoony but sort of unreal, heh. You copied her features very nicely, I can't really crit it. Keep feeding us WIPs, I really demand more of her! Otherwise, you're doing great as usual

Asia D does look like Betty Paige in that one, and I just loooove Betty Paige... *lol*

When it comes to J's portrait, it's awsome, recognized her right away. I think maybe some more work on her hair with highlights etc might drag her face out a lil more, I'm not sure but at the moment my eyes gets a bit confused by the shadows her in face and no real depth in her hair? *scratches head*

Really great work, I like a lot of your stuff here. I'd like to see more pencils, like the other guys says as well though ^^

I am in love with Bettie Page too!!! She is a cool WWII bomber pin-up and was actually put in jail for public indecency!! Imagine the jails now if they put all the pin-ups in jail???? They would be packed full of the hottest women ever!! Thankfully things in the World have changed for the better... J's portrait is not done and thanks for the great crits, yes I agree... I will wip out my pencil soon and do some cave scrolls... LOL my sketches suck big time! Why do you guys insist that I expose myself as a horrible sketcher?? , OK, part of the process in public humiliation I guess.. hee hee xoxo
