Some are stock brushes with the controls modified, usually, rotation, angle, and spacing, example, the "ribbon" stroke in my last post.

Others are direct "photo" brushes made from photos I take of objects around the house with wide spacing.

Where did I learn to paint? I can really say, I mean maybe my art education. However, my high school classes were just to give me access to materials and my college months were spent on foolishness. I'd guess that it is like anything with practice. I mean, I don't have hobbies, I have obsessions.

My current process is pulling in my photo composite skills into my painting process. You see, I started with Photoshop back with the Mac Quadra series.
Back then, the paint tools in PS really weren't there yet, so I spent my time doing "digital" photo collages.

I do recommend the Massive Black video downloads. For the price, their giving the info away! I have five of em, digesting Dobsky's perspective info now. And Whit's mask video awesome info.

The latest environments have utilized photo manipulations and clone stamp tool.
The photo manipulations are just the insertion of photos taken around the house and the altering of blending modes for the layer, usually, the multiply, overlay, or vivid light modes. The clone stamp technique employed is using clone stamp to clone other places of a painting over the same painting adjusting the blending mode of the clone layer.

Like the fuzzy look in those enviros, only be careful that this fuzziness doesn't interfere in what the piece wants to tell. Sometimes is necessary only one main point to focus the attention in.
Anyway, great work! Keep it going, it's very inspiring.

Ouch, that hurts, I'm a thirty year old, masochistic, self deluded, alcoholic! Am I a lady?
And thats not communicated in my work! Seriously, thanks for stopping by, I'll try to return the favor.

Why not? And these things are gender-indipendent anyway.
And more or less could be applied to me too!

    Spanks on you then!

Thank you so much for commenting my SB. I know about the arm on the devil. The scan is pretty bad so... The hand is more defined on the original. >.<

Hi and I take it back, dude this rocks especially with the astronaut!! I hate that I fell into the entire "concept" thing and people even things about the piece I'm working on like, why are they in this room, stuff like this!! I have publicly flogged myself and this piece is rocking, even my BF, said Me of all people question art?? You don't know me but, I am usually the one to stick up for pure are, not the one with stick up ass!! Again, so sorry and I will stop apologizing to you very soon, maybe later today?? But not now, sorry!! Kelly X

Great variety, especially in those latest pieces. My favorite has to be the astronaut piece.

Wow! I like the rest of your work as much as your EOW WIP. It grips me the same way Daniel Dociu's (Tinfoil) work does.

Thanks again for hooking me up with your brushes. I'm fond of the square ones!

I'm also a big fan of using photo ref. It's encouraging to know that better artists than I make good use of it.
