    Dungeon Master Concept...

So I've been a long time lurker and finally decided it's time to get my feet wet...

I've started working on my first digital painting and concept piece... and it's a rehashing of a character from a game I worked on almost ten years ago, originally designed by a good friend of mine.

I've always wanted to revisit this character with my new set of skills and now is as good a time as any...

Ultimately I'm going to build a high res 3D version of this character using Modo and Zbrush or Mudbox, UV and texture for my portfolio...

comments and critiques are definitely welcome...

    base mesh:

    Quick head sketch...

And I apologize for the longwinded first post...

blocked in some anatomy...and I'm playing with the idea of horns on a helmet...and the big leg will get wrapped in bloody rags and leather straps...

that Steve Hilbert guy is about to get his ass handed by the beast! The comparison shows it in this image!

you want crits? Theres no way buddy's going to lift up its massive side with such a scronny little leg. Unless this bastards going to be hoping around on one foot and seriously praying about NOT losing balance, i'd look into that. Realistically and Unrealistically, his proportions are off by a milestone. His head is too large in comparison to that massive arm he's got... if you couldn't smell the sarcasm, his head should be a little larger. Watch the fingers/hands, not enough TLC. The shoulder/neck area also looks a bit iffy. It's just a wip I know, keep working on it.

Steve, I love this guys head http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...ert/DMHS01.jpg

    good job, keep it up.

making some progress, but the head is a sticking point for me right now... can't decide if he's creature, or human?

Gonna work on a few more versions of the face...
