    Digital tablet or not.

Just posting a question to all wanting to add thier feedback. How many of you artists out there use digital tablets, exclusively, and how many still go the paper and pencil route? I am studying Game art and Design at Art institute Pittsburgh and will be needing to purchase a digital tablet.
I was just curious how many of you use it.
    Thanks for the info.

I use one and I estimate that about 75% of artists here do so too.

I don't think any artist here uses a tablet "exclusively." You need both.

yep sometimes i feel like using my tablet sometimes i feel like using a pencil.
    just to balance things out.
so even if you get a tablet i'm pretty sure the pencil will still be used often.

A bit of both. I do not think anyone just uses a tablet, not even some of the pros that have gotten so accustomed to the digital realm.

I use both. Usually it consists of me sketching out on paper then painting with the tablet after scanning. It depends on the drawing though, do some images exclusively with one tool, then exclusively with another, then another that combines the two. Keep doing that and you'll get a better idea as to what instrument you should utilize where.

Both definitely since a piece of paper is easier to just start "sketching". Although the "control+Z" issues don't work in real life and thats kinda happen now and then when you draw traditionally... you wish sometimes you can just undo rather than going on a light table and clean up every mistake.

First sketches mainly with pencil on paper.
Sometimes I use watercolor black and white paint for gradient, lights and shadows.
    Finishing with tablet.
