    What ever happened to Bengal

That guy was like one of the most popular artists on the net, then he just disappeared. I know he was/is working on a graphic novel, so maybe he's busy, but still.... WIB (Where Is Bengal) ?

    undead!

well that's the problem of internet : when you're taken by a very demanding job, you don't have any more time to do free illustrations and of course everyone thinks you disappeared.
the fact i'm published only in french doesn't help either, i bet! :]

BUT I'M ALIVE!... and i do comics, yes. after the short serie of MEKA (2 volumes) i've been working on a new serie, NAJA, 1st volume released tomorrow, finally, after keeping it a long time in the closet (i'm working on volume 3 already, the publisher kept material of 2 first volumes to be able to release volumes fast after each other).

so i still don't have the opportunity to do illustrations, and it won't get much better, since now i'll have to do a spiderman shot for marvel in the meantime. which makes me happy, but dispappear even more behind my desk!

well i guess most of you will never see my books anyway, french publishers being SLOW as fuck when it comes to export books. so i'll link the cover, after all it's an illustration! :]

thanks for your concern, i'm still around checking forums from time to time, and when i'm rich enough to slow down on book production (in 30-40 years huhuh...), i promise to go back on the illo department!
    cheers!

This is so true, it's actually an epidemic in the forums community Someone shows up, makes a big splash with some awesome work, then never posts again because the work gets them a great job, and then they're never allowed to show their new work to anyone because of lack of time, or NDAs, or they work at a big production house and don't do any personal work anymore.

Glad to see you're still making cool work Bengal! I've always liked your stuff.

Wow I was just looking at Bengals stuff the other day, great news on the new GN. I'm seriously thinking about learning French just so I can read more GN and not have to wait.

    hey thanks everyone!

so yeh, those pages are from the release, Naja volume 1 (46 page comic book, french format!).
as usual, pretty sure it won't be translated... unless it's a big hit. which i doubt, seeing how my anonymous book is released in the flow of the 10000000 other monthly releases.
    but i cross fingers!

    thanks! :p

2009, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. book production is more or less going well now, i survived the transfer from designing!!

OKAY, i won't learn html but i'll find a slave to put stuff online for me as soon as i produce some.

clochette tries to force me anyway.

Oh the tears of joy...how they stream down my face.

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Been buried with life, so drawing was on the back burner, but seeing Bengal post on this thread (haha even if it was almost a year ago) definitely made me grab my pencil and throw down some sketches.
    Cheers to you, Bengal.
Whenever I was in a rut or just need a bit of a kickstart your site was where I always went. Truly inspirational stuff. You helped me try new things and be more adventurous with my technique. It really would be an honor to meet you in person. Hope your current projects are going well..and of course I wouldn't mind seeing a compilation of all your illo stuff again. ha time and money permitting.
