The first digital painting I've done since being at Uni, about time as well! Unfortunately it's unfinished and I moved the objects on my desk.
The studies in the previous page are looking very good man. I think you should focus on the anatomy studies and wait with photoshop to be honest. It's easy to get stuck with the digitals and forget the really important stuff. But it's just me of course. And try to get your hands on Rubins Anatomy for artists and Bridgman's Constructive Anatomy if you haven't, very good books.
Btw, don't forget to draw from imagination too if you want to be a concept artist in the future! Keep it up!
Spaggen Thanks dude I'm definitely going to put down the stylus now and start on the anatomy again. Unfortunately the quality of my studies has dropped, out of practice i guess. I'll get started again for sure. Thanks
krel Thanks I made those studies a while ago, I haven't done much since. But, expect some more soon!
Here's a study that I started but I didn't finish because I moved some of the objects. Going to focus on anatomy now, here goes!
hey thanks for dropping by my SB dude, hope Plymouth is treating you well. I always thought of going to Plymouth the course seemed great, had reeally nice studios too in that sweet building and the course leader seemed pretty awesome too.
Good to see you start posting again. Theres nothing like a ca sketchbook for motivation,
Keep it up!
PHATandyThanks dude It's really great to find another Illustration student in the South West of England! Plymouth is great thanks, the weather has been lush at the moment and the course is great fun, quite laid back this year though. I've heard that art at Falmouth is great, hope you're enjoying it too Haha, our course leader is a legend! Thank you for your words.
I've been chilling out today with friends at Uni so I don't have much to show. Hopefully I'll get some in after an epic cycle trek tomorrow. Anyhew, so here's a few studies. I really need to work on the initial form before getting into the tone I think?
This is my first post of the Summer! I hope to follow this up with more of my drawings over the next week...and month...and month after that I hope.
I'm trying to do location drawing at least once a week, so today I cycled down to the sea front and made a few drawings that took me quite some time strangely.
Anyhew, was great fun and the weather was gorgeous!
youre ALWAYS learning something! Every single line you put on that sheet of paper is one step closer to your dreams. These are quite fun to do and I think I may be learning something!
Awesome sketches! Keep studying anatomy and applying them! Looking forward to next update
Help me improve my drawing skills by commenting my sketchbook
Surion Thanks dude That's encouraging. I shall keep those studies coming! I always find the applying the hardest bit, trying to imprint in my mind how parts look and work is tricky, but with time I guess. Thanks again!
Here's an unfinished digital piece from earlier today. I couldn't find the time to finish it so it's quite naff but next time I won't leave my desk until my work is done!
I'm trying to make sure that I get the values down first, advice and critiques would be great
Here's some studies from today and yesterday. I hope that drawing so many eyes wasn't a waste of time...But anyhew, I found that I rushed the eyes as I got further down the page and that hindered the learning process. I've got to find the balance between quick and longer studies to stop me from going crazy.
I won't ramble any longer!
