I haven't posted for ages! I've been quite busy =( but i have loads of spare time at the moment so i've decided to commit myself to drawing regulary. This is a study of Aeon Flux played by Charlize Theron, unfortunately it doesn't look very much like her and there are alot of issues with the structure of the face. It was a fun study however.

    Thanks

You got some great things going here. Its good that you are doing so many studies, and so far its paying off. Just watch your proportions and keep drawing!

Newman Thanks very much I post my studies mainly because my characters are terrible. I'll definately pay extra attention to the proportions. Thanks man

Ok here's some more studies. First some anatomy, focusing on the head. The last page is some studies from life, i realised i had issues with circles and ellipses so i practised that using a bottle of linseed oil. I also thought about light and practised using an eraser as my object. I can't see any improvement in my characters yet unfortunately.

Lateman Thanks very much. I will keep drawing as much as possible, unfortunately i've got an exam coming up and stuff I'll try and post everyday when i'm not away. Cheers man

Ok here's a WIP, based on a photograph that i took from atop Mont Saint Michelle when in year 9 my year group went on a trip to France. I found the photo lying around in one of my drawers and decided i had to start digital painting on a regular basis, so here i go! Crits and advice would be great

    Thanks

Cool sketchbook! It's awesome that you're doing all these drawing studies, they pay off so much in the long run. You can even see your progress through just this one page of work.

It's also good that you're making those little notes to yourself in your drawings about what needs fixing. Writing it down instead of just realizing it in your head makes the learning more concrete.

My favorite of yours is the drumb set. You did a crazy good job on that.

Keep up the good work and keep practicing. Post post post!
"That is some science, bursting in your face!"

Go poop around on my sketchbook, yes maybe please? =D

kittymachine Thanks very much Yeah i'm doing a lot of studies at the moment, i'll do quite a few more then see if i can put into practise anything that i've learnt. I always use red pen when i write notes next to my work for some reason, i like to constantly remind myself what i need to work on. You've started your sketchbook really nicely, i want to see more!

Here's a character i just sketched. It's not such a great sketch, there's a lot of things i could have done better: line, tone, balance of the figure.

    Thanks

Lateman Thanks for the redraw It looks really class, the anatomy is looking nice as well. You've made him look like a true warrior I think i will learn a lot from this, thank you. I've been away visiting my family and i haven't had a lot of time to draw, i'll get another update on the way soon.

Here's my first attempt at a Black and White paint, done in Mr D's style. I think i may have not used enough white. I apologise in advance for the bad anatomy.

    Thanks

Hey Sky, Jack here. congrats on your massive improvement even since i saw you last week. It's obvious how much those studies are helping you, keep those up and you'll soon be making "well wicked" character concepts for yours truly to model. ayyyy

ps. love that (nude) woman and the guy next to her. They look really good. is the guy from GTA? reminds me of their kind of artwork. or is it from a photo?

Jack Hey man, thanks But i haven't improved enough yet, my digital painting is still terrible. That guy was supposed to be Will Smith but i rushed it, haha. Anyhew, we need to do some more concepts soonish. It's good to see you here, how did you sort out your password and stuff?

Here's a digital paint i just did, it turned out really bad unfortunately, i'm not happy with it. Any advice on how i could improve my painting would be highly valued

    Thanks

    Sky
